Ok i own both here so not fanboyism at any point in this topic (for either or) on the xbox ive made lots of friends online (dont get me wrong i have the mates from real life) but no one seems to have a ps3 and if they do they dont have online for it so there goes my real life buddies for ps3. And when i do play online to find these "online pals" i get no where with that cause no one has mics and when they do they are either:

• 12 year olds who scream higher than their baby sister and think "mum jokes" are funny
• A**holes that want nothing more than to bash someone because they have all this built up rage from not being able to shout at someone for being "poor" at a game cause they have no mics so they feel its ok to take it out on the people that do have them.
• From another country (not racism just language barrier)

So when i do find someone with a mic at an average of 1 per game these factors come into play. infact since owning the ps3 witch is about 1 year and 3 month. i have yet to come across anyone with a mic that hasnt been one of these three catagories of people. Ive found that people avoid using there mic because of this, and slowly becomes into a snowball effect.

Annoying people > Cool people (this excludes factor 3 i just named it due to language barrier)

PS3 online has fewer foul mouthed people and young people, because you have to buy a mic seperate that costs $20-$30 and most kids don't do that. 360 puts a mic in every box so every kid that buys one has one. You need to learn to ignore the ones you don't like and talk to the ones you do like. No matter where you play online. And don't make online game playing your life or your priority when playing games. It'll ruin gaming for you altogether. Online is a bonus and not the gaming experience in and of itself. Enjoy playing games and not people. This is my advice.
