I'm tired of so many SKUs. This generation of consoles should officially be cauld the SKU generation.
November 2006: 60GB and 20GB SKU
August 2007: in less than a year the 80GB SKU with PS2 emulation.
Novermber 2007: in less than half a year another SKU the 40GB Without BC.
June 2008: another SKU the 80GB with PS2 emulation now with a Dualshock 3 controller and a copy of Metal Gear Solid 4.
September 2008: 80GB without BC and a Dualshock 3 SKU and a SKU with 160GB with a copy of Uncharted Drake's fortune.
And now coming this september another SKU, the Slim with 120GB. Now the value of all the 40GB, 80GB and 160GB consoles that current owners have will drop even is they play the same games or have more expensive components. Even GameStop have lowered the 80G refurbished prices to $249.99, when they were selling it at $349.99 they were giving in trade-in $200.00 and now they will give like $100.00 the same value of a GameCube before the lunch of the Wii and the same as a brand new PS2.
In my opinion now every owner of a 40GB or 80GB PS3 will feel like they now have an udervalue console and if they try to sell them everyone will want them at a very low price like pieces of trash. I not liking the way Sony is changig the console SKUs so fast even the PS2 took 4 years for a Slim model.Whats you opinion?
