Thought this was a little strange...

The 40GB model for the PS3 has no back comp correct? Then why is it that we have the option of creating internal memory cards for the PS/2.

And we have the option to smoothen and add HD resolutions for PS1 games.

If we have no back comp, why do I have these options?

All PS3's including the 40g model play PS1 games. The other model PS3's also play PS2 games.

i think u can play ps1 games on the 40gb. I also think there are updates for ppl who got the 40gb to play their ps2 games. I am probaly wrong though lol.

Sony didnt release the updates yet. Keep on waiting man lol.

Thats what sony said when they released the 40gb. Im not sure how they are going to do it or if they still plan on doing it. Last time they mentioned this was when the 40gb came out.

Sorry, but 40GB's not ever going to run PS2 games. It's not so much the software, but the actual hardware which restricts it from playing PS2 games via emulation (emulation chip, etc, etc).

Looks like I'll have to wait for the 80GB to come to the UK or a possible revised 60GB. :(

Are you saying that there is no extra hardware needed to play PS2 games? Just an update? I find that hard to believe.JetMoto6

As hard to believe as you may find it, its true. They have been making emulating software for years for the PS2, it wouldnt take much to implelement this for use on a console.
