Thoughts on R&C?

I enjoyed the 1st R&C: FTOD... much more than I'd expected to in fact. So I was very surprised that Insomniac was able to surprise me yet again. I was a little concerned after having been slightly disappointed with Resistance 2. But R&C: ACIT is really better in every way compared to the first title. The game is still pretty much the same in terms of gameplay (with a few new conventions to make it fresh), but the balance of gameplay & the level of polish is really outstanding.

I know it hasn't really had very much competition, but it's easily my favorite platformer of this gen. Action: AAA, Platforming/Puzzles: AAA, Story: AAA, Graphics: AA. I recommend this games to fans of either action or platforming titles.... I think this game is a nice cross section of both. I will note that it's not the actual combat that make the action so much fun... it's the weapons. Seeing what new ones you'll get, and what upgrades you'll be able to perform on your old ones. Great replay value as well.

This game will probably get overshadowed this holiday season, and that's a shame... because it's definitely one of the experiences that set the PS3 console apart from the others. If you don't get it now, be sure to come back to it later! Or go ahead and get the first one for like $30 now to get a taste for it! There's plenty of variety & replay value in that one too... you won't be disappointed.

R&C is a fantastic series that sadly will be overlooked by many this holiday season but i do see it having a long steady stream in sales. I havent played Quest for Booty yest as Canada just recently got PSN cards... and i always forget to get it when i do have a card.

I will indeed grab ACIT but not on the first day as my bills are getting tight and i need to work out a new budget as i just got a raise at work

With commercials, and 2 demos it should be excellent sales

I agree, it's a great game. I actually wasn't expecting it to be this good.

Its EPIC!!! been waiting for this game for so long..i beat 2 planets so far.. im loving it and im going to get a plat on it as well.. i really hope this isnt the last R&C game.. i would love to see more on ps3

I LOOOOOOOOVE Ratchet & Clank, been a fan since the first one came out on PS2 all those years ago. Can't wait for ACIT

It is a great game but...

I wanted multiplayer/co-op back.:cry:

I never liked the R&C series, I tried to like it, all my friends were making me play it and persuading me to get TOD, but I really never had any fun with R&C at all. I hate the style of platforming(this is why my favourite platformer is uncharted...) and the gameplay just doesn't appeal to me. Hope you have fun with it though!
