Norse Mythology is a fave of mine. If done right, this will be a must own game.

so? if someone is interested in it, i don't see why they would pass it by? if i think i might like a game, i don't care what others think. i'll give it a try. you could miss out on some good games.

Not that I agree with "Very, very lame," but in his defense, the title of the post is asking for our opinions on the upcoming game, and lame is even in the title of the post. That is just what he feels. Personally, I haven't even begun to look into the game.

I dont think its the fact you said it looks Lame, its just by you saying that you think anyone with even a passing knowledge of upcoming games would look past it. If that would be the case, there would be a ridiculous amount of great games that would never be played. There are so many great games that have a steady fanbase but wont get a sequel, because it didnt make enough money because the only games alot of people will buy either have to be AAA or some crappy movie port.
I for one dont have alot of hope for this game, but I am still watching it because it very well may be worth checking out.
I think what the problem is, and i dont mean to offend anyone but people are too cheap, your afraid to spend your money on your own jugdement on the game, i knew from the first image i saw of this game over the summer that i was more then likely gonna get this game, regardless of what reviews say (unless somehow it is horrid and gets like a 5.5 or under, which wont happen) and sure i'll picking up all the big ps3 titles to come out in the future but this game is coming soon and i defitnetly want it!
I liked Conan, but the story couldnt catch me. I prefer Norse Mythology over any other, exept Greek (all thanks to Saint Seiya lol).
Anyway, as far as scores goes, it may be able to reach 8+ thanks to the combination of styles that may help to keep the game fresh, going from action to Strategy or a mix of both of them to.

Plus Sega tends to make entertaining games (Condemned). Secretly hoping it isn't good so I dont have to buy it... I still havent beat DMC4, still playing Uncharted, will buy Condemned 2, and R6V2... COD4 is next on the chopping block.

Well viking mythology never really interested me until I stopped and thought just how brutal they were and theres is very similar to greek... and greek is just awesome... So the story alone at leasts interests me... its just the gameplay and value that I'm worried about... looks a lot like GoW but thats not a bad thing

If my memory serves me correctly, it is being done by the same team that has been doing those recent Medieval games for PC. So yeah, I'm expecting a good game here.
Not really sure on this one. I saw a few screenshots and it looks cool enough. But as others have said, the gameplay worries me. Definitely a rental though.
I just checked out some screenshots and it looked pretty good. I like how a lot of soldiers are display in the screen and still look pretty darn good. Now I probably won't pick this up for $59.99, but if it turns out to be good then I'll pick it a bargain price.
I'm big on Vikings and Norse mythology so I'll probably check it out. With source material like that it's hard to go wrong...then again...Beowulf is like the best source material for a video game and it ended up sucking.

It is not a conan or god of war. Its going to be open world large scale battles. Its made by the people who make my favorite strategy games total war. Creative assembly KNOWS how to make epic battles and im sure they will do a good job. So dont compare this until its out on the shelves because i thinks its going to be fun.
I like the idea of fighting in epic battles and I like Vikings but I don't really care for mythology I would have liked this game to have been more realistic rather than you fighting monsters and stuff.
The main character looks like an idiot as well but I if the game turns out good I might at least rent and maybe buy it.

Where did I say it was about saving time? It is about posting a thread that at least has about 2 secs worth of work into it and not other people doing the guy's job (which actually nobody did here)
I like this game personally...I like the idea of Free world play and im a big fan of almost all mythology, I have done my research on this game and like it, but thats because I really like fenrir :lol: also it says it will have some sidequest and shops and its said to be a huge 3 island conquest, so ya......im geting it XD......GTA + God of War = Viking 8)
How is it in any way related to Conan? It's being developed by The Creative Assembly who did like the Total War series, Medieval series and the Shogun series, they had nothing to do with Conan...also I liked Conan, anyways, great developer and SEGA is publishing it, so, I'm buying it for sure, if for no other reason but to put money in SEGA's pocket so they can make Dreamcast 2 :D
I know I will wait for the reviews. Some of the graphics look so-so. Know nothing of the gameplay yet or what others have to say. However, the setting and story are new. Its developers have had their past successes so it may have a chance. Only a short time to wait before we will know. Remember Vegas 2 comes out next week.
