Well I'm playing Bad Company right now. I enjoy it, but I am quite bad at it, and I die a LOT. Suggestions on which classes, tactics, and weapons to use?

I must mutter up my Battlefield experience as a vet! A pretty rusty one too :| DON'T GET SHOT! Okay, let's start Recon: Snipers are suppose to kill from long range, don't run into your enemies!! Instead, find a good lush bush to hind yourself in. Yes, camouflage actually works. Only use the motion sensor when you're pretty sure that an enemy is close by or when you move up into enemy territory. Don't forget to keep moving, you'll die if you sit in the same spot and you'll be left behind by your team. Assault: Charge ahead! But try flanking as well, the Assault guns are versatile and shoot from long range as well. The grenade launcher is not meant to kill infantry, usually the incredibly nerfed damage and radius would tell people that. It's meant to destroy walls and let your bullets pass through. The Needle is pretty much easy to understand, if you're dying, use it. Engineer: Pretty hard class actually, the main weapon is a shotgun and then you have rocket launchers. The shotguns are actually pretty strong, too strong, at a decent range. But if you're close enough, that's a one hit wonder. You should try to avoid long range fights but if you can rocket snipe, then be my guest. When Fighting vehicles, shoot them hide and move somewhere else because chances are, they're gonna blow your wall. Vehicle mines take some tactical thinking. If you just throw it around then people can easily avoid them. Try to put them in holes, in grass or around corners. And as defenders, try to add some on your six since people do like to come in through the back door. Support: Heal and Repair, I tell you, you won't be using repair too often unless you're gonna be a Helicopter pilot. Healing however, is a must and will be needed almost every second so your job is crucial. Don't run in the gunfire and try to hind behind walls from your enemies when you heal teammates. You can also throw in a medpack or two to snipers just in case they need them. The Machine gun is more of a long range weapon, at close range, it can kill but it's a slow death. Specialist: The class is mostly about flanking, C4 makes you more devastating when you do. This is also the funnest class as well as the second beast of close range. The main weapons have a lightning fast firing rate. The Tagging is used for vehicles and requires some faith and precision, in other words: Hope you hit your target and hope someone cares. Other tips: Use destruction, the game implies it and you should listen to it. Cover may be temporary but it is also crucial to survival, plus it hides you from your enemies. Grenades are best for clearing out small confined places, especially against defenders. Certain Gold Crates can be attacked by rocket launchers from long range. Always aim for the objective, kill anyone that gets in your way but don't forget your priority! I would have some more tips but I don't play that much anymore. I just need a buddy to add me in a squad. Tell you what, add me, GammaGrenade and lets play sometime ;)

Camping is overrated, except for on call of duty search and destroy mode.

On defense, guide missiles to destroy tanks and snipe on big open maps. Do not try to get all the way to the other side of the map and spawn kill. You will die. Demolitionists are an effective way to dispose of tanks, which can turn things bad quickly.

On attack, assault or specialist is the best option. Click here to find the code to unlock the Uzi(in addition to some other weapons, including the QBU88-very good sniper rifle), it's the fastest killing weapon next to the PP2000. 99% of the time you should be spawning with your squad. If you've gone deep into enemy lines, why not hide and wait for your squad to assist you, maybe even a support who'll heal you? Your squad in a house protecting an armed crate? Pick support and heal for easy points.

Small tanks are surprisingly good for destroying crates, just watch out for specialists with C4.

I turned my aiming sensitivity down so the aiming is like COD 4.

Even then it's overrated.

All the good players know where everyone hides, so there's no point in hiding there.

People always fail to see what's right in front of them.

Gosh dangity, thought I was the only who does that. I tend to be the guy sniping in front of the enemy in a bush or something. Everyone who snipes on highground tends to get counter sniped pretty quick.

LOL I already have used all the codes... but never used the UZI, because it looked worse than the others with the same stats except for less accuracy.

The post above made some very good points. I will add that if you like to snipe you can get a head shot on someone in a light tank using the machine gun or if you jump on the tank you can take the gunners dog tags with a malee attack. I tend to die a whole lot more than I get kills but then I have almost 500 uniquie dog tags. Also remember when your sniping that when your at close range your side arm is the best choice. As for the rest of the weapons and load outs there all needed most all the time by you or sometimes a team member.

Not sure if there are any tips with the way I play, right now I just need the 10,002 kills trophy and the all awards trophy to get the Platinum. but I end up killing a lot, not getting killed a lot.

Yeah, a lot of the worst players tend to be predictable.

I gotta say, in Search & Destroy, surround sound becomes a perk of its own.

Pretty much this. I only use Specialist and Demo...I love to blow stuff up and get real close. The SMGs have gotten me big points in games before...I believe my highest is over 1000 points in one game. But in the end the best class is the class you feel the most at home with. This game is a big difference from games like COD.

When people try to get the gold crates with a rocket launcher they make easy targets for a malee attack (just gotta sneak around to flank them).

I just sit in a corner when I plant the explosive and wait for the fools to rush in, then they meet my shotgun.

NEVER walk out in the open. Move through buildings or by tank. Snipers are everywhere. also. aim right atwhere an enemies chest would be. then when you see one, shot the chest and rip up his/her body directly into the head.

Bad Company 2 is going to be so awesome...Just thought that I would add that in. Being able to destroy whole building will add even more strategy to the mix.

Last I saw, they had a killcam. If they don't take it out then I'm gonna pass on it.

Tell you something for nothing mate, I prefer being Recon. Headshots are worth 15 points a head (No pun intended) Also, when you hide in a bush, use your goggles (What you use to lock onto tanks) to scan the map for moving enemy soldiers. You will be surprised at how much of a difference this makes, I can see snipers hiding in a bush by just them moving even just by an inch. I don't know how it makes a difference, maybe the filter on the goggles shed a new light on the situation. Oh yeah, don't give yourself away, try to be as inconspicuous as possible. If you think you are going to lose the match, try to stay close to the ammo boxes, so you can throw the radar sensors to help your team-mates kill the opposition by giving away their positions. Works everytime. Then you can taunt the enemy by sending them messages saying "Hey, guess what, I'm giving away your positions by throwing hundreds of sensors, good luck" Haha, it works, especially the taunting. Proper wind up! NikosFightClub.
