I'm really interested in a PSP go. But a deciding factor would be the load times and battery life. How are the load times on the GO? How long does the battery last on a full charge? Is it hard to play out doors in the sun light due to the screen? Post your impressions.

The load times are very fast thanks to it being all digital and the battery life lasted about 6-7 hours for me on medium volume and mid screen brightness

From what I hear, batteries is about the same but if my old PSP is any indication, downloaded games are significantly improved and faster. Like Mana Khemia or Metal Slug Anthology. These are almost unplayable on the UMD because of the crazy frequent loading times etc., reading off the disc. But as a download, it's much better. Metal Slug plays like a perfect conversion now. I rarely bumped into slowdowns or loading times. The UMD version use to freeze slightly whenever you would jump or if there are tons of things going on on screen. But the download version fixes this. So I'd expect the Go to be the same.

Load times are crazy fast. I can create and jump into a Twisted Metal game in less than 30 seconds...and that's from the moment I select the game from the main menu. It's so fast. Battery life is decent too...I get about 5 hours (give or take) depending on volume and screen brightness.

Thanks for the responses. How does the screen on the GO handle gameplay in the sunlight? Does any one know?

When i use to try and play my 1000 in the car it was almost impossible. The PSP GO is wayy better, and i can actually see the screen now, still would rather play with no sun but atleast it's playable in sun.

Glad to hear that. My last and final question is how are the download times? I hear people say it take 2 hours to download a game. Is it better just to download it on the computer?

PSP go has the best screen of all the PSP's, its about the same as the 3000 without any ghosting issues. The fastest way for me is to Hook up your PSP via USB and download it using Media Go. I used my PSP Go to DL a few games, but it took significantly longer.

Downloading from the go is slow at best. I downloaded FFVII for the PS1 and it took about an hour and then another 20 min to install.

Downloading on a PC is much faster than downloading from a PSP, but the overall speed depends on your Internet speed.
