To anyone that has played Madden '08....

Ive heard a disturbing rumor that the framerate on Madden 2008 is much, much slower on the PS3 than on the XBOX 360. Is the framerate really that bad on the PS3? If so, I may have to buy a 360 to play it (trust me , I'll do it for Madden)!

Does it run slower? Yes.

Enough to warrant a console switch? Depends how Madden-crazy you are.

For me? Absolutely not. In trying out Madden 08 at one of those kiosks in a local Gamestop, I kept getting "Please reconnect 360 controller" errors while playing. I'd rather have a game that runs a little slower but actually runs. Reliability. It's a good thing.

If you never see it running on the 360 then you've got nothing to worry about...

If you liked Madden 06 on the PS2 then you will love this game.

The frame rate is better than 06 on the PS2 but not as good as the 360.

I bought it for the PS3 and I think its great.

No regrets at all.

ign gave it a 9 on 360 and a 7.7 on ps3 for that reason....buy a 360 anyway...i have all 4 and my ps3 gets the least amount of play....360 all the way

Gamespot gave the 360 version an 8.5 and the PS3 version an 8.5. They also mentioned in the video review that aside from some very minor hiccups, it doesnt really affect gameplay. After watching some videos of the game in action, I think it looks awesome despite the numbers.

agreed, Madden 08 looks exactly the same as 07 imo, the graphics weren't even touched. there really aren't enough new things to warrant a 60 dollar purchase unless you want the new roster that bad. i have the ps3 version and the only problem it has is a very rare hiccup where it will freeze for like 1 second, but it never does that during the play, always after.luigismansion101

I own both versions and Imo there is quite a big difference. The XBOX 360 version runs ALOT faster and looks much better. The PS3 version has an odd blur to it especially after each play. Now if you never actually seen or played the 360 version, you wont really notice the difference!!kungfuchaos

Im just going to copy and paste what i wrote before when i bought it for your sake:

ok i just bought madden 08....and omg I AM SO FREAKIN STUPID. I saw it at costco for $50, $10 cheaper and i was like well all the more reason to buy it. omg this game SUCKS. People complained about maddens retarded AI, so instead of improving it, they just increased the frequency of turnovers. And you have to turn the injuries off because someone gets injured every 3 plays...its insane. From when u pop the game in, it had a nice presentation and all, the menus, high def, etc, and the next-gen graphics make everything aesthetically pleasing, but after you play it and get used to it, its like the same game as all the other maddens. On top of that i can't stand the frame rate. what machaveli7 said about this game is DEAD ON. It feels like ur on a laggy internet connection, and ur not even on the internet! The frame rate issues are insane! You have press buttons twice sometimes (like on a slow internet). the only possible reason to buy this game is if you have never played madden before, otherwise why bother paying 50/60 bucks for the same thing. plz don't make my mistake and buy into the hype.
