So here is the deal my original 60GB PS3 broke a few months ago and I had it repaired, it was out of warranty so I had to pay, this was fine however when I got it back it broke again with the same problem (ylod) and got it repaired for free. Now it has broken again with the same problem but it's out of warranty again, so my question is: at this point would it be better to just get a slim or just hope for the best and get it repaired again?

Hmm tough call, the 60GB has BC while the Slim doesn't...personally if I were you, after all that trouble I'd just end up getting a slim. Repairing a system never lasts and you'll end up getting it repaired over and over, wasting so much time.

Your PS3 has been repaired a few times now, and its only going to happen again so i would save up and get a Slim.

Stop getting it repaired as it's probably just going to break down yet again. Just pay the $300 and get a brand new console.

Fair enough the only reason I kept it around was for BC however It's not like there are many good new PS2 games being released.

I sold my 60GB as spares/repairs and got quite a good price for it.Then got my 120Gb Slim and 2nd hand PS2 slim for my PS2 games.Haven't looked back since.
