I was under the impression that all games will work anywhere. I hear of UK owners buying Oblivion and the like from US and importing them.

The PS3 games go for $59.99 US or near that, NOT $70. Wal-Mart has them for $59.84, plus tax which varies by the state that you go to. The sixaxis costs $49.99 almost everywhere you go. And finally, the PS3 itself goes for $599.99 US currency.

Good luck on your trip and welcome to the States.

I also wanted to add that any games that you buy from an online retailer in the US will NOT charge you tax. This is very handy for when you are making a major purchase. For instance, a PS3 in NY costs $599.99 US. Well  NY's tax rate is around 8% on the dollar (may be more or less depending if you are in a city or not). This would bring the PS3 total to $647.98 , with $47.99 in taxes. This can be completely avoided by purchasing online. Keep in mind that this may not last for ever and I actually beleive their are a few states that actually have banned online tax exemptions (not sure whch ones though, sorry)

Hope that helps.

Sorry bud, I didnt mean to nitpick. I just dont want any fanboys coming in and seeing things like that and saying 'ZOMG, PS3 games are $70!!!'--we all know how they are sometimes...

Also, to the UK dude; In the states most place will NOT allow any returns of an opened game. Once the seal is broken, you are out of luck and own it. I know some of the specialty shops like Eb games and Gamestop will give you a percentage of what you payed for it back. They buy used games, so dont expect full retail price. Wal-Mart especially will not allow returns on open games. They ended that policy after people would buy 8-bit NES games and return them as soon as they finsihed them (not me!!??...lol) Thats why it is highly reccomended to review a game or rent it first before you plunk down 50-60 dollars on it.
