As you may know some Ps3 suddenly stop reading any type of discs, and while surfing ebay i found this:

do you think this piece would solve the problem? Have any of you tried this?

It seems like it but I haven't heard any issues with PS3's not reading discs....simplest way would be to give SONY a call and they'd fix it for you. Even so, can you trust that auction? I sure wouldn't....Give SONY a call dude...

Believe me i would if i lived in the USA but since Sony Venezuela won't answer to the guarantee since "they are not currently marketing the ps3 in Latin America except for Mexico", this is kinda my only choice to get it fixed.

Edit: I don't trust any sites like eBay....I'd rather go to actual retail stores...lol

Lol well get it then, but if I were you, to be safe, I'd consult with a real tech. pro and ask him/her about it lol...just to be safe...

for some reason i feel that if people wait for the next update on thursday the issue might be fixed... but i don't know since i never got that problem.

Yup, that'd be the fix. I'm currently on my second PS3 which has decided to stop reading discs. It's a pain. I've been hearing a lot of other people having this same issue on the Playstation.com Forums.
