1. I am extremely satisfied. The console looks, performs and continues to be great. 2. The online play is great, but sometimes lag can be quite bad (COD3). One bad thing is that the Store doesn't have much content. 3. PS3 is great for gaming, or as a multimedia hub. It can play songs, videos, Blu-Ray, browse the net etc. It is like a 2nd PC. 4. Yes you can burn songs onto it, either by memory card or by inserting the CD and selecting 'Import'.Are you satisfied with your purchase?

1. Very satisfied mainly because it still works.....
2. Haven't really played online but I think it really depends on the game.
3. I love it as a multimedia station. Only if it could play avi files. But that should be fixed once I install linux.
4. If you mean move your songs on to the harddrive then the answer is yes. It doesn't let you stream easily from your PC. But I dont think the 360 lets you copy mp3s onto your 360 harddrive so its a toss up in this area. I prefer to store my songs on the actual device others may prefer to stream it from their pc. Depending which you prefer determines which is better.
Thanks, this pretty much leads me to the conclusion of purchasing the PS in addition to my current Wii.
Thanks all! :D
I didn't pay for mine so I'm very happy with my purchase. Do I think it is worth AUD$999? No.Are you mental?? So becuase you dont know how to do something correctly that means it fails?? Yeah I cant drive a 6 speed, so the ferrari Enzo fails as a good sports car... Are you serious? You are basing the PS3's abilities soley on your situation rather than the actuall specifications or abilities of the system.. Is it a good system. Yes becuase you got it for free??? the price that YOU paid for it does not determine the quality or function of it.. and also you said. you didnt pay for it so your happy with your purchase.. how can you purchase something if you dont pay for it?? you are a clown... Im tired of everyone saything what is right or wrong, better or worse, based on thier cercumstances.... becuase something is your favorite doesnt make it an ACTUAL best......... ok.........im done......sorry........
Online feels very limited. I have become use to Microsofts Xbox Live. The PS3 has nothing like this.
The machine plays DVDs, Blu-ray, etc. I have not found a way to stream media to it from my computer. So it fails pretty badly for multimedia.
I don't know what you mean by can you "burn" songs to it.guyhunter
1. Yup, love Resistance and Motorstorm, and watching HD movies is great 2. Online is solid, lag free experience 3. Pretty good multimedia station, though file organization could use some help (especially playing MP3s), if you have a big collection you will have a big list of songs to sift through, they need a more iTunes like music player option 4. Yes, you can rip CDs on it pretty sweet. Are you satisfied with your purchase?

1) Yes.
2) Fine enough. Only tried with Resistance. And, frankly, I didn't much like RFOM. JMO.
3) Excellent. It's rated the best sub-$1000 BD player on the market by AVS Forum regulars. For HD Movies, the PS3 is simply a wonderful device.
4) Haven't tried. Sorry.
I've come across at least three ways to stream media from my computer to the PS3, and by 'burn' they mean rip. Not to mention free online is better than xbox's live.zenith_04

guyhunter I think the problem... litcarthoume
The lack of easy streaming to a PS3 is an issue for me I'd like to do this. Now I used Linux as my primary operating system from 1994 to 2002 and I could install Linux and start streaming media if I wished, but I would like a nice simple way to do this.guyhunter
Yeah. I wouldn't want to boot linux just to stream music to the PS3. There's got to be a better solution. BTW: I'm also a convert to the Mac after having run Linux since the early nineties. Ran BSD/386 before that. (And before that I ran or supported Venix on a PDP-11, SunOS, Irix, Digital UNIX, blah blah blah at various jobs). It's nice that PPC linux distros were ready for the PS3, especially with Cell dev tools to make use of those SPUs. But the lack of hardware accelerated video really blows. When I boot up, I usually stick to console mode because X11 on the thing is so slow.
BTW: I've also got a 360 too, and it's got a lot of great games going for it. I'll be keeping both systems. Heh. :)

How does PS3 fare as a multimedia station? I think it's great, everything I've hoped for since I first heard about it's features.
Can you burn songs to it? Oui oui
All I have to start doing now is build up a library for my PS3.
