that and most testers dont want to be kicked from the beta due to NDA, i mean as for me (im a tester) im not willing to talk about it at least until the betas over for the exception of talking about it to my friends that meaning literally talking to them.[QUOTE="sxs_alex"]all the beta testers are so quiet about warhawk. i haven't seen much WOW or F*K yeah im buying this game when it comes out. all i hear is the sound of crickets. zero_cool098

what he doesn't realize is that there's an official beta forum that is absolutely buzzing like maaad.

Sony and Incognito, they can and do read everything and I mean everything you write online!
Dont risk it!
I will just go out and talk about it a bit right now. I am under no NDA agreement because personally, i never agreed to anything instead opting to use a proxy hack. (Which I wonder if it will still work after the "official" beta expires)
Yes there are official warhawk forums and you will catch a scattered tidbit across the internet about the beta. I will try and find some links to guides/etc. Anyways the game is really fun. It will not melt your face off but it is really sweet. Think 3rd person battlefield on crack. The gameplay is extremely fast paced and arcadey. The vehicles control flawlessly and with the exception of using the dpad for inventory items (which SUCKS!) the control scheme is pretty nice. The Sixaxis controls for the warhawk are OH so close but ultimately is a novelty to use. Competitive players or those without patience will opt for analog control (as i did.)
Gameplay is broken up into four games. ZonesCTF DM and TDM. There are 5 "worlds" divided into different maps. These worlds are just a massive board and the "maps" are just pieces of the "worlds. The layout of the boards is awesome and there are plenty of pinch points and strategic locations that work VERY well in the game. The boards are MASSIVE and draw distance is flawless, you can snipe someone from across the entire map, a map that would take around 3 minutes to go from one end to the other in a jeep. Very impressive.
The weapons are pretty cool too. However again, the inventory system is pretty whack with no current customizations. It hopefully will be customizable in the full game as the L2 and R2 buttons are not even utilized in the Beta for ground combat. The weapon selection is a flamethrower, assault rifle, rocket launcher, binoculars (air strike), frag grenade, sniper, knife and pistol as default loadouts. I think the game needs a shotgun but thats my own opinion. The pistol works the best because its auto lock works stronger than the rifle and it seems each round does more dmg. It is pretty good for rapidly tapping R1 and getting headshots. It is widely held that there is some tweaking to be done in that dept. Sniper works cool but is hard to use and has only two zoom modes that are not adjustable. It could also use a slight tweak.
Vehicles include tanks, jeeps, and warhawks. All control well and include at least one passenger. However if two people hop into a warhawk the second cannot jump out with a parachute or something. I hope this is fixed in the full game. Warhawk controls are AWESOME and there are 8 total weapon pickups you can get. The missiles for air to air combat are sketchy as far as damage but they are functional. Hopefully sixaxis controls can be optimized for full release.
Going online with up to four friends in your living room and seamlessly (just have the other controllers press START) joining is alot of fun. Organizing flag caps and taking strategic points is alot of fun sitting in one room. Stats are tracked and there are unlockable costumes, faces, helmets, warhawk decals and paint jobs, as well as many other items you can unlock from ranking up.
Overall Warhawk is setting up to be a AAA online game. It is not reinventing the wheel. However everyone that I have sat and played with has left with the same exact quote. "This game is addicting." Do not miss this frentic 3rd person jamboree when ithits the PS3 this fall.

all i have to say from this essay you wrote is WOW *clap* *clap*. i will print it out and hang itup on the wall. thanks for stepping up and taking the time to shedsome nice highlightsfrom the game. two guys in a warhawk and the other one can parachute. dang dang! i've seen a lot of gameplay videos thought it was good but from your point of view sounds 10x better than what i expected.ps3 will be on a rampage when this game releases along with Tekken 5 DR online. i'm gonna keep checking the PSN for invites. all jokes aside. If you guys see a guy screaming and cursing over a mic like a 14 yr old, that would be me. j/k
Im in the Beta its an awesome game its like Battlefield on Crack, or way better than that. If you dont have a headset, get the Blu-ray version since its an incredible value, but if you have a headset, just get the PSN version, either way its a win winlennygundam14
Yeah you kinda took that quote from the essay now didn't ya?
The maps are huge though. I agree though a change in scenery would be nice. I would really dig a snow level. Each map has a nice vareity. Island outpost is a map with lots of trees and lush foresty landscape. It features two large bridges in the middle canal where action gets hectic over a river.
The Eucadia map is like a worn down city scape. Pretty cool. Archiepelego is an island style map. It is pretty sweet though it is very large. Snipers are limited in effectiveness in this map. It is particularly cool playing on a little island in DM where things get really hectic.
Badlands is your typical desert style map. Again very cool for warhawk flying with the gorges and the rock structures formed by erosion.
And then there is this one with bases surrounding a huge city rooftop area. You can pilot the warhawks to the disconnected minibases and then there is a main landing area/land mass/city roof thing in the middle.
It is hard to explain them because they are SO HUGE. They are incredibly detailed and very tactically balanced in nearly every aspect.
Glad you guys read the post. If you have any other questions or anything just ask.
