This is going too far.

The poll is a reaction to the recent price drop. It asks: " So it looks like a $399 40GB PlayStation 3 is hitting North America on November 2. Are you getting one?"

Yeah the price is dropped but it's also stripped down, 40GB isn't nearly enough, I wouldn't buy it and think it's a ripoff unless you don't plan to buy a lot of games. Just my opinion.

hahaha post of the year. and ya that poll is prett lame. i do feel a little gypped since i only got it 6 months ago. but i love every thing about my 60 gig

i dont think that the 40gb is a bad move, i dont care about the BC problem because i already play all the ps2 games that i wanted to play....thats why im getting one 40gb model...

But let's also remember that the average console owner probably buys a maximum of 3 games a year through that system's life cycle. For those consumers, I would say 40gb is perfectly manageable.

The 40gb unit will sell, and cause the other units to sell, too, as people seek out the backwards-compatible SKUs. All in all, the consumer wins because so many of our fellow gamers have been waiting for a (slightly more) cost-friendly PS3. The flood of games is nearly upon us.

So the Xbox360 at $399 with a 20GB, no wifi, no Blu-Ray, and no card reader was a rip off when it first came out also? It was sold out and remember there weren't enough good games also besides GOW at that time. My point? It's all about the price man. Can you imagine if Sony came out with this price in the first place even with this "stripped down" thing you're saying? 40GB is not enough? Hmmm....it's funny the xbox fans weren't complaining about their 20GB when they bought them. Dude, good thing about the PS3, you can have 500GB if you want to. No BC? Why do you wanna play "back" in time?
