'Tom Clancy's Hawx' worth getting?

who all has played it? owns it? ect? i've been searching for a fun sp dog fighting game on ps3 for a long time now and have yet to find a decent one, i've heard both good and bad things about 'Hawx' but compared to the others i've read about, this one seems the most promising, and now i'm seriously debating on getting this game, but i've been stiffed on so many titles lately that i really don't feel like impulse buying this game, is it worth getting?

Icky-Bad. I would suggest the "Blazing Angels" games, and "IL*2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey", or "Heroes Over Europe" before I would go with "Hawx". they're not jet games, but they're infinitely better dogfighting action. The "Hawx" games are sort of like "BurnOut" in the air, with a lot of flash and freaky physics...

I'd say give HAWX 2 a chance. It blew the first outta the water and I honestly found it sorta better than than Ace Combat 6. Ignore HAWX 1 at all costs.

HAWX 2 basically emulated AC's PS2 gameplay and rode with it. Taking everything good from it, including the weapons and difficulty balance. It's a PS2 Ace Combat clone with real-world locations, this gen graphics, and a few non-flying missions thrown in. The plot is also better than AC6's in a way.

I dunno about specs on the jets for I didn't care much, but what I did notice is that you're forced to fly a certain jet on each story mission, different jet on each mission. And this can be a good or bad thing depending on your preference.

Rent it atleast, flight-sims on the PS3 are a dryfield.

DO NOT BUY!!! Hawx has to be the worst flight game i ever played. I don't even know why it needs to install 5gb of data to suck that bad.

i just watched some playthrough of the 2 blazin angels games and meh... see i want a dog fighting game that relies more on missiles than machine gunning, thats why i was gearing towards hawx, what all kinda weapons and fighter jets do ya get in hawx 2?

I've changed my mind. "HAWX" is perfect for you. Or perhaps you would like the new Ace Combat.

I picked up the original HAWX cheap the other day, i love it, the online is dead but the single player is fun:D, the ground maps are made from real satilte images, the only bad thing is when you fly up close the buildings and tree's are not very detailed but it is a flying game and not a racing game, and if you are really desperate, you can bomb disney land if you really want to.
