No, just no. You get the gold guns by completing every challenge for said gun catagory. Do all the shotgun challenges for every shotgun, you get a gold shotgun.
You can get the gold versions by completing all the challenges for each weapon. So if you complete all Assault Rifle challenges, you get the Gold AK. For Shotgun's, you get the M1014, For LMG's, the M60. For SMG's, the UZI.
Don't be fooled by some dumbass that makes something up like that domination stuff.
