Here is my problem. Too many games, and not enough time. I need to come up with a strategy to maximize the best gaming experience in the shortest amount of time.

My problem really goes back 10 years ago in the Ps1 generation. My first PS1 game was FFVII and I swore that I would not buy a new game until I completed the previous one. Well, I finished the FF and bought Colony Wars as my next game. Then my plan fell apart. Colony Wars was fun, but it got boring and repetitious so I bought another new game, and before I knew it, sequels to Final Fantasy were out along with Final Fantasy Tactics. Then I really got into PC gaming, and the strategy games like Civilization and Heroes of Might and Magic ate up most of my time.

I found myself continuing to play Starcraft online, but finally broke that addiction a few years ago with Soldier of Fortune 2 and BF1942 came out. I have yet to find a satisfying online experience like these games. Warhawk is just too frustrating for me.

I have yet to complete a RPG since FVII which is pretty sad. Many of the PC games that I own are so dated that it would be hard to enjoy the experience with the crappy graphics. I have about 100 PC games, 50 Xbox games, 6 Ps1 games, 20 Ps2 games ,and now 6 PS3 games. How do you guys find the time, and still be good at online?

My real question is should I just sell and dump all the old games, and just play the new generation, or would it be worthwhile to slog my way through all the old stuff? I was thinking it would be fun to play all the Medal of Honor games, but the first would may be a huge eye sore. Iwould really like to play the wholeSoul Reaver series inorder, but I wonder how the graphics would look nowdays. I remember when it came out for Ps1 and I was blown away.

Honestly do whatever suits u best. Personally if I was you I would play these games in the summer if you really want to. Im planning purchasing a few older games in the next months along with some new games. But u should just stick to the new games for now because the holiday lineup is truly CRAZY!!!

you seem to have just a variety of taste in games.

personally for me... my gaming tastes are pretty restricted. that is how i am able to finish all of my games... i don't buy a lot of games in the first place.

i say that for your case... just play the old games which have sequels coming out in the future. for example... if you are interested in playing MGS4... play MGS1-3.

Funny thing is I can't break this Starcraft online addiction. The game makes me mad more than anything cuz I have to deal with hackers and people stacking the teams, and lousy teamates, but it is so a rush when you crush an enemy. I've logged about 10,000 online games on there.

sell all your old stuff, and every console besides ps3, and buy every ff after ff7, (including ff11) and just cut work or school for 2-3 months. lol
Good luck.

Lol, it's an addiction. I always want more. Well for funs, I booted up the very first Medal of Honor game on my PS3. God how awful. There is no way I can play it. The graphics are so muddled and low rez that I could barely make anything out, and the control was horrible. The sound design is still impressive. Amazing that this game was once very impressive visually. Looks like I'll need to sell this game and it's sequel, Medal of Honor Underground. It would have felt rewarding to beat all the games in chronological order though.

I have the exact same problem. My solution? I keep telling myself, "hey, you paid the money, and you have the rest of your life to finish these games. Nobody ever said you had to finish them in two weeks. This isn't a homework assignment; there is no due date."

About your older games; I find that, depending on the game, gameplay sometimes can trump graphics. Take Baldur's Gate II, for instance. I find it addicting and fun, despite the fact that its graphics are nearly a decade old. Sometimes, the story and the characters just draw you in.

If you find yourself without time to play all your games, I would suggest you think long and hard about what exactly you want out of your games. It would help if I had a list of the games you owned, or at least a partial list, as well as your priorities. As an example, if for example you prioritize enjoying a good interactive story, and you owned Baldur's Gate II, I'd say keep BG2 and play it at your own pace. If, on the other hand, you want snappy graphics and exciting gameplay, I'd say drop BG2 and go get the latest, next generation game.

By the way, if you live near a GameStop or other such gaming store, often times they'll give you credit at the store if you trade in old games, at a certain percentage of the worth of the game. Over time, the credit adds up, and if you were to hand in your entire library, chances are you'd have enough credit that you could treat yourself to perhaps 3 or 4 next generation games at maybe $5 each.

Yes, you are right. I do own Baldur's gate, the PC series and console. I made it through about 30 minutes of the first game. lol

As for credit at Gamestop, one nice thing about shelving these old games is that quite a few of them have become valuable as they are out of print. I sold the Heroes of Might and Magic collection for 80 bucks a few months ago, and my Squaresoft RPGS brought in anice profit. The majority of old games are worthless, but I only buytop rated games so ya never know. I've become more of a collector than gamer, but it saddens me that these FPS games from 10 years ago are just too unplayed due to horrible graphics.

i know some of the older games look awful on the PS3 (the ones that actually work on it that is) and if you don't still have the appropriate console to play them on the only thing to do is dump them, rather than wonder what you have missed out on.

If they work thenkeep them for those days between Christmas and E3 when we're all waiting for the next big thing.

I only play Warhawk and BF2;MC at the moment but I have a pile of games sitting waiting for boredom to strike, I even still have PS2 launch titles i have yet to complete. If you can't join a match somewhere or the servers are playing tricks, don't get frustrated sitting round pounding the find server button, switch it off and reach for an old game, it could be more satisfying than the alternative.
