Uncharted should be the top.
While disappointingly short, it's awesome, but not justifyable of a 60 dollar purchase.
Udsen
I would say Heavenly Sword for the same reasons. Awesome, awesome game though.
Also, this game isn't too popular, but I had fun with THE BIGS for about 4 days.

First off, I need to get this off my chest: Online multiplayer is greatly overrated in my opinion. Gamers are like sheep and they'll play the hell out of whatever online shooter is popular at the moment and then ditch it for the latest, greatest thing when it comes out. It's a vicious cycle that makes me appreciate good single player games even more.
1. Heavenly Sword- As a game collector, this game is a must own for me. It marks a turning point for animation in video games. The quality of the facial animations, voice work, and flexibility inherent in the combat system is breathtaking. It is also a very good game; maybe not a great one or an epic one, but one that MUST BE EXPERIENCED.
2. The Darkness- Mindless shooter fun with a twist. A great weekend rental in my opinion.
3. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune- BUY THIS GAME. IF YOU OWN A PS3, then YOU SHOULD OWN THIS GAME.
4. Assassins Creed- RENT THIS GAME...It is very ambitious and succeeds on many levels. Unfortunately it also fails on many levels and has some seriously irritating bugs that tarnish the experience.
5. Folklore- Surprisingly deep...a hidden gem in my opinion.
Poor kids rent games.
Joke.....
1.Sonic The Hedgehog
2.Virtua Tennis
3.Simpsons

well i own 23 games on bluray, and 18 downloadable games, and i'm broke as a joke :(
I think Uncharted and SKATE are huge must buys. I just want them in my collection .. like to collect all the cool exclusives ..
People seem to think these days that being able to beat a game in under 10 hours makes the game bad, at most worthy of a rental. Maybe I'm just old school, and remember when the only games around that took MORE than a few hours to beat were Legend of Zelda and Final Fantasy.
I see nothing wrong with games being beatable in one or two sittings, in fact, with the exception of RPGs, I prefer it. As it is, there're too many games that I never finished beacause I didn't have time to finish them all. I think Heavenly Sword was a perfectly justified purchase. Beat it in about 7 hours. Every now and then, I'll stick it back in and try to collect more glyphs, or just relive the story and marvel at the depth of emotion in the expressions. I bought Assassin's Creed and loved it. Not sure how many hours I took, but I beat it in about 5 or 6 days. I did everything but find some of the flags (got about half of them) and kill a few templars. Sure, I could've rented the game, but I know I'll play it more.
People act like if a game can be beaten in the time allowed with a rental, it doesn't justify a purchase. Honestly, short of long (100+ hour) RPGs, and online multiplayer games, there is no game ever made that can't be beaten in a few days, so by that reason why would any game justify a purchase?
If you don't like a game enough to play it more than once, why bother playing it at all?

Most games on these lists are linear unfolding gameplay (almost like watching a movie). That is what makes the replay value low enough to consider them a rental. Not saying that Heavenly Sword wasn't an awesome game (It blew me away), but it will be months before I play it again and even then another rental will suffice.

But for me that's sometimes a good thing. Im not a big fan of multiplayer, I just cant get into it, though I enjoy single player games like heavenly sword. It does have a movie like plot, which makes it a bit linear, but I think it words perfectly for HE. I think it's actually possible for a game to drag on too long... I actually though resident evil 4 could have been shorter... it was great, but dragged in some parts.
