hey fellas

i cant find it anywhere but i was wondering whether i can totally turn off the backlight or the whole screen so it goes black n u cannot see nething

i know that there is the button at the front that u hold for a few seconds but i want the backlight to stay off when i press buttons.  this is becuase i use the mp3 function and i want to get as much battery power as possible also i dont want the screen getting ghosted.  when i turn off the screen from that button, i change a track n the screen comes back on

thx

The screen "turns off" by itself. I dont believe there's another way to do it.

turn off the screen, then put the power switch on HOLD, you can still adjust volume and tracks with the headphone controller without the screen turning back on. It took me a second to find out but it works well

press and hold the little square symbol next to the start, select, and the music note, but when you press anything the screen will turn back on

LoL you guys are not helping him. LoL sorry for that but you guys are just telling him what he knows. "Anyway you cant just turn it off like that theres no way. But you can use the head-phone controller thing and just put the screen to black and put it on hold as that nitro guy said"

I just turn it back off when I'm done changing tracks. Honestly... what does that difference make? like 2 seconds of battery life?

Theres only one way to do that...

-Buy a PSP Remote & Earphones

-Plug it in

-Select a song

-Turn the screen off

-Put the PSP in lock mode

You can change songs with the remote and the screen wont turn back on.
