My bro wanted to get me a game for christmas but I already have most of the "must have" games of this year. So I am choosing between:

-Prince of Persia (Love the PoP series besides "The Two Thrones" which was a disappointment. The only problem is, this is a single player game, and I dont know how much replay value there is to this game)

-End War (possibly a good RTS. I always liked Command & Conquer so I thought this may be worth a shot)

-NHL 09 (I'm not a hockey fan but hockey games are fun, and it got a 9.0 on here)

What do you guys think?

Yea, I dont doubt that PoP is a good game. I would like to play it myself, I guess its just hard to make the decision to get it when I know its single player only (and that the game may be a bit short). I'm one of those people who got way too caught up in online gaming and now, that usually makes the decision on whether I get a game or not. For example, Bioshock looks awesome and the demo I played was fun, but its single player only and I dont know how long the game could keep my attention.

But yes, hockey games are fun. Honestly, the last hockey game I played is 10 years old (NHL 98 I believe) but I played that game off and on for years! I dont know, I guess I feel like its time I get with the program and get a next gen hockey game LOL.

I'm still not sure about End War. I may be better off waiting til Command and Conquer releases for the PS3 next year.

NHL 09 is an amazing game. PoP can be a replayable game since it is a trophy game. I heard it was good, but the main character isn't as good as previous Princes. I don't know about End War since I haven't played but my friends say it is a good game. It all depends on what you like. Hope I helped.

I haven't played PoP or endwar but I can tell you that NHL09 is absolutely fantastic. The be a pro mode thats been newly implemented is exceptionally deep and rewarding. You basically make your own custom character, where you only play him throughout the entire course of the mode. Its very deep and rewarding as you progress him up the scoring charts and move from minor leauge to the pros. The online be a pro section is just an extension of the offline, however you should note online stats are seprate from offline. Overall all tho the replayability is fantastic, it takes a while to progress one player through his entire career and then you have the other positions to consider as well.

PoP i've heard is exceptionally easy... thus that might make the game very quick however I've heard despite no multiplayer, there is a large amount of hidden items and unlocks to collect which would increase the replay. Have NOT played this however so take my advice with a grain of salt.

Endwar... well I've never been a fan of RTS on consoles but who knows... decent reviews and seems to look alrite. Once again however, I have NOT played this.

Well some single player games dont hav online b/c they focus on adventure mode/campaign and if u choose only games w online, then u will miss out on great games. For example: UNcharted, Bioshock, Dead Space, POP, Fallout 3, and many more....

Very true. I dont always skip single player only games. But the game has to be something that really catches my eye. I have Uncharted and its still one of the best games I own for PS3. I also have Fallout 3 & Dead Space, both are awesome. Dead Space was actually a decent length, I didnt mind it being a single player game at all (same for Fallout 3, its so long, it doesnt matter that there isnt a multiplayer mode).

I can see this decision is gonna take some time. I'm leaning towards all three games at the same time LOL.

Thanks for your input. I was waiting for a non-hockey fan to post about NHL 09, just to see what you thought about it.

I really need a good sports game. Madden 09 flopped for me. Yes, the graphics look amazing, the gameplay is great, it has a higher framerate, but its broken in the most important part of the game. The offline multiplayer. Me and my cousin play Madden all the time (if not that, then NCAA Football). Well, everytime we get to halftime on Madden 09, the framerate drops. Everytime (around halftime) a player makes contact with another, the game freezes for like a millisecond. Then it progressively gets worse, which leads to the game running in slow motion the rest of the ball game which sucks. I swapped the game disc for another but it still didn't fix the problem. EA simply dropped the ball (no pun intended)

Rly? Bioshock is that good? I heard it was good, but I didn't know if it was better than Dead Space. I would get it then BUT my bro is getting it for christmas himself. So I can play it anytime I want LOL. Good call though. And I forgot they were releasing Bioshock 2.
