don't trade anything in to those criminals... They will rip you off with anything you try and give them
If it says not for resale on there they usually give you an even lower price for the game because they know it was just some inbox offer. They only gave me like 50 cents for forza when I got it in the box with my original xbox.
Wow, all this hate for Gamestop. You people do know Gamestop is a business right? The prices of trade ins are all determined by the customers, not the store. When a bunch of people go and trade in a game that lowers the value of that game because then it is no longer hard to find. If the game is at a moderately high price and no one is buying it then any smart business will start dropping the price until people start buying it at a regular pace. This in turn drops the trade in price again.
Places like Gamestop make next to nothing on new games and systems, atleast not enough to carry on the normal operations of a store and also keep between 50,000-100,000 employees with their jobs. In order to make a profit they sell used games and of course you can't very well sell a game for what you buy it back from a customer for. You have to sell it for more to make a profit.
Go trade in a used car and see how much you get for it. You may buy a car for $20,000 but after you have used that car and kept it for several years you may get lucky to get back between 1/4th and 1/8th of your initial purchase on it.
On another note Gamestop does have some poor business practices, but atleast I understand that they have to do the things they do to survive. Its basic Economics/Business 101.
Instead of blaming the store, blame other gamers. You may think that $55 is insane for a used game to be priced at, but while you think it is insane they have 20 people behind you that are more than happy to save the extra $5. And while you may think getting just $10 back for a game you purchased for $60 3 months ago is insane, there are another 20 people willing to trade in that game that are more than happy to get that price.
As long as customers support the trade ins and used prices, Gamestop has no reason to change because they are making huge profits. And if any of you were trying to run a business you would have the same practices or else you woouldn't be staying in business very long.
I know that when i trade in a game, im plain bored with it and have no plans on playin it again, but i usually only trade in games that r still 60 new annd 55 used, that way i at least get 20-35 usd for them
I hate selling to them
Biggest rip off artists
