well after messing around with that program ive found it rather simple to use except there one major issue when using it with PS3. PS3 can only save images from its internet browser and it cant save entire folders at a time. for transfering lots of files for example your music collection i'd reccomend using an mp3 player, ipods are good for that because of the massive storage capability. PS3 can copy any file from an MP3 player be it music, videos, pictures or whatever you want.

After installing the program, which should be pretty straight forward, double-click the shortcut on the desktop then click "launch file server". An internet page should open then click settings. then add the directories you want to be able to download from for example lets say you want to share your my music folder which is located at "C:\Downloads\Music\" type exactly that into the second space then click add directory. then navigate on your PS3's web browser to the address shown in the address bar of that settings page for example if it read "http://192.168.1.101:8192/settings.jsp?skin=Default" then type in "http://192.168.1.101:8192/" on your PS3. then navigate to where your music is, in this example, "C:\Downloads\Music\" after that you can apparently save the files but my ps3 will only let me save pictures. as for the destination if you get past this it should be the "\MUSIC\" directory for music etc. I hope this helps but if you want me to post pics i will but i have not taken any screenshots.

well I already saved a video (a trailer as test) I had to dl PS3 video 9 and convert it to MPEG 4 AVC in order to save it as a video (music I think it supposed to be a certain format as well)

Though with music and certain videos I might have to use storage devices but as of right now I only got the video thing to work by converting the trailer in MPEG 4 AVC (though i tried with another clip but it tha hasn't worked)

i have transfered a rainbow six vegas HD clip to my PS3 through my ipod, along with over a thousand songs at roughly a song a second. Both work great, but i used my ipod to transfer the files i have yet to try to access this fileserver from my PS3, mostly because my ipod is just easier and its alot faster for music.

for music it accepts ACC and MP3 so i would think you should be fine mostly, but it doesnt accept protected content so be aware of that. I am re-ripping my music to my ps3 because i "super-rip" my cds to my computer using a Creative x-Fi soundcard and creative media source, it basically attempts to recover some of the detail lost when converting the music to 16bit 44.1kHz PCM and then saves it as WMA PRO 100% lossless. Because this is WMA PRO, PS3 wont read it, im pretty sure it wont even read any WMA files
