I'm not sure how Spielberg's movies work as far as him being neutral. I am pretty sure if he directs it it goes to both but no idea if he's just the producer. It really depends on him because otherwise Paramount won't put it on Blu-ray they aren't even going to restock movies already on the format....

I don't know where you got a copy of blades of glory on blu ray because it is not out here in the US. Transformers has been confirmed that it is an HD-DVD exclusive, IT IS NOT COMING TO BLU RAY. They didn't edit it because they had no time because the news of Paramount and Dreamworks going HD-DVD exclusive came after they made the discs for blades of glory. Like i said i don't know where you got blades of glory on blu ray unless you were watching the DVD.

Isn't Transformers a Paramount picture?

And if so didn't Paramount say they wouldn't be supporting blu-ray? (BTW they said that after Blades of Glory was released)

And didn't Michael Bay (Director of Transformers) go off on one about how dissapointed he was with Paramount's descison?

I seem to remeber there being a lot of threads on here about it.

For the record Blades of Glory one of the funniest movies ever. Good purchase

I hope you brought your silver polish Mclroy because that was pure goooooooold lol

They probably didn't want to edit just that little part because the news of Paramount and Dreamworks going HD_DVD exclusive came after they made the discs for blades of glory. TM1

He never said he had Blades of Glory on blu-ray he just said he wtached it on his PS3

It being on HD-DvD doesn't bother me at all :P I have the add on for my 360 and support that format anyway. However it was such a good movie I would have got it on Blu-ray had paramount gone the other way with exclusivity. :|

*edit* and yeah Blades of Glory PWNS

There you go, i work at Best Buy and we had blades of glory in the back two weeks before it's release and the news of Paramount going HD-DVD exclusive came a week or so ago. The discs were made already and there not gonna recall a whole batch just to edit one little part like that. I honestly don't care what format transformers is on i own both formats so either way i'm good.

If they said they were not releasing a standard DvD of it and went HD only that would be hard to believe but even with Blu-ray selling more then HD-DvD it's a pittance really. They aren't exactly losing the farm on this.

Believe what you want but there is more than enough info to prove its exclusive. Here's a quote from just one of the many articles online.

The first movie to be released as part of the HD-DVD exclusivity deal will be Blades of Glory on August 28th with Transformers and Shrek the Third following soon after. For those keeping score, these three movies alone represented more than $1.5 billion dollars combined revenue at the box office this summer.

There is a clause in the Paramount contract that Speilberg can release his films in either format. He didn't direct Transformers, but he did produce it. It's in his hands now. Start writing letters to Steven.

the clause says only movies that speilberg directs will be on blu-ray, paramount already confirmed that since he only executive produced transformers that it was coming to hd-dvd only.

Yes, because of the fact Columbia Pictures (which with Spiderman 3), will support it. And we all know Spiderman 3 will not be on HD-DVD. :P
