Anybody else notice there is a couple seconds of wait before a trophy appears? For once I thought it was intentional to make sure you continue with what you're supposed to be doing, but in comparison videos with the 360 achievements it's quite noticeable to me. I'm not trying to say that it's a terrible quality, but does anybody else notice this? For some games of mine it appears faster and some are extremely slow.
I wouldn't call this a lag. They don't appear absolutely immediately, but I don't really see this as being a problem in any way. I actually prefer the trophy display to the achievement display on the 360 - it's less intrusive and feels less like it's interrupting the game. Same goes for pop up notices that friends are online etc. They're less distracting on the PS3 in my opinion and I like that.
I also notice that too.While I finish a level in COD5 in veteran and it didn't show up.I was about to throw my control across the room, but I stop when I saw my message that I got the trophy :).
I've noticed it too, but I'm cool with it. I wouldn't mind seeing it sped up, but I'll live. :D Sometimes it varies on how long it goes. Sometimes I think I actually didn't get the trophy, like some of the ones in GTAIV took forever to come up.
my alone in the dark trophy for completing the game took 8 minutes to unlock if you dont believe me check my profile ( from time completing last chapter when i should have got trophy ) pretty strange it just unlocked in the menu 8 minutes later i was going crazy thinking i didn't get it sitting on pc searching to see if its a known bug and all i heard was the trophy noise :)
yeah well it sucks sometimes... when i finished Mirrors Edge on the hardest difficulty the trophy didn't show up for almost 15 seconds! i was like WTF!!!!!!

yeah i was like that too when i beated uncharted on crushing and the trophy wouldnt appear :(..but it did :P

yeah i was like that too when i beated uncharted on crushing and the trophy wouldnt appear :(..but it did :P lol... my heart stopped for a second when ending trophy for Far Cry 2 took till i was already at the credits to show! some games go alot faster than other.. Burnout Paradise trophies popped up instantly.. while games like Far Cry 2 and LBP seem to take a while...

For multiplat games/ported from 360 yes its true, PS3 exclusives from my experience are instant.nitsud_19
That makes more sense. Another reason why exclusives are so awesome. More time put into it... The fastest trophy appearances I've gotten are from Uncharted and Burnnout Paradise surprisingly. Two games I farmed a ton of trophies from.
yeah it's kinda annoying and it makes me worry that the trophy didn't actually unlock lol. the fact that the 360s achievements pop up instantly is very nice. but the design of the trophy pop ups >>>>>>>>> the design of the achievement pop ups
