Any ideas?
The PS1 logo comes up, then it's just a black screen...
I don't have any other PS1 games to try out either... The disc is in perfect condition.
I also used Disc2 and does the same thing.

That's not true. It works perfectly fine on my 60GB. Do you guys own the 80GB by any chance?
And yes, I have the black label.
I hope so...I'm planning on playing this on my 60GB PS3 when I finally finish FFXII. Gotta defeat Yiazmat first, though.

Which is why I'm trying to play it :(
The easiest way to find out which 80GB do you have. Does it have 4 or 2 USB ports in the front. If it has 4 then it is a BC machine. If it only has 2 then it doesn't hace BC.
its topics like this that have me regretting my purchase of the 40gbsteveslugga
All PS3 read PS1 games.

Ah no every PS3 model can play PS1 games, the PS2 games don't play on all models. I don't know about why it is not playing for you but I have MGS1 and it is the original black label and it works fine no problem. If you can get a new copy of the game or let a Friend lend you his to find out if your PS3 can read it or not.
Bythe way I have the 60GB from launch.
