Turtle Beach PX5

Hey everyone.

I have been concidering getting a turtle beach px5 for my ps3 but i want to make sure there worth the money concidering there cost.

At the moment i am using the audio from my television. I have my ps3 in my room and have housemates to concider so a propper 7.1 set-up just isnt going to work. I know this is a great headset and has had rave reviews, but a majority of my gaming is single player. So my question is to anyone anyone who has the turtle beach px5, is the unit worth the price if your going to use it mostly in single player games, or is it only worth th cost if your a heavy online gamer. I would say really not.. Part of the reason they're so expensive is that they combine a surround sound headset with a microphone and channel control.. if you play mostly single player i'd suggest just getting a nice pair of normal headphones (that you can use for you iPod/Mp3 player and any portable gaming devices as well) and then get a composite-to-3.5mm audio jack converter and use the normal (Red/White) audio out from the PS3.. Turtle Beach headphones are quite overpriced for what they are (I work at a store that deals with alot of the turtle beach products)

Also alot of the Turtle Beach headphones aren't very durable, we probably get a few back a week that the plastic couplings that attach the ear cups to the headband have broken on..

its not worth it if you dont play online that much
