So guys, I've been wanting to pick up Twisted Metal for awhile now and i've heard alot of good things about the game, but of course, i've heard alot of bad things about it too. For those of you who have picked it up and played through it, would you recommend it?

I want TC's question to be answered as well, especially if the online multiplayer is any fun.

I have played it over my friends house many times. I'd reccomend it, however, I have never played the Multiplayer, Just helped my friend beat all of the story lines. Hope I helped.

Only buy the game for multiplayer, and it's awesome.

If you want to play the twisted metal of old where everybody has their own story line you wont find it in this game. only 3 story lines. Which is lame and lazy. The rest of the game really is only meant for online multiplayer.

Personally I wouldn't wipe my ... nose ... with it. It lacks the magic of TM2. Not sure why, but it does (my opinion, your results may vary).

I borrowed the game and I'm glad I did. Multiplayer can be fun and challenging, and the single player was nice to experience once. But there are annoying stages in the single player, and its short with no real replayability. So if you think the online multiplayer will keep you satisfied for awhile then get it, but if not its probably not worth it unless you find it cheap.

Thanks alot for your input guys, i'll still consider picking it up despite its extremely short single player mode. The multiplayer itself should be enough to justify my purchase.

Im gonna tell you the 'bad' first, the game's online play is plagued with connection errors and freezing but from my understanding it only occurs if you join a game from a host that is from a different continent, so yeah I guess make sure to check the ping before you join. Other than that it's really the the best TM game I have played. It came with TMB in my copy and I couldn't go back to that title due to how slow it feels.

TM2 is still the best because of the characters and such but PS3 TM plays exceptionally well with amazing vehicles that all handle differently and have their own unique special properties. Fantastic open levels up to 4 player splitscreen, it truly is a pure old school videogame experience. Emphasis on 'game' because it's not trying to be a Hollywood rollercoaster ride it's a videogame and it shows through and through.
