It better be done right this time. I loved this series when it first introduced itself, but it has gone downhill from there. They need alot more rides, maps, weapons, and a few new cool features.
I just picked up an issue of the official playstation magazine last week and it had an article on well known devs and what they were working on. It stated that incognito was working on a new twisted metal game for ps3.
A new Twisted Metal was made for PS2 and is being released in a few days actually. It's a mix between ps2's twisted metal black and psp's twisted metal head-on.
