Should the next PSP models include two analog sticks. I would think it would make FPS and any shooter really easier to play.

Yes, it would be easier to play an FPS. The PSP could use a good First Person Shooter.

Unless there's a significant improvement in analog nub technology, it probably won't make shooters much better. Even the Go's nub isn't good enough for the task. They should probably still include one for just better camera control in general..but I wouldn't expect a huge jump in playability for aiming.

What do you mean by "other side of the D-pad?"

Yes, but not just for FPS, (but that is one good reason) but for good camera control for any 3D game. In the Prince of Persia games you have to actualy stop moving, hold R, and then the stick becomes your camera control, so it's impossible to move the camera and run at the same time. A tadannoying.

I highly dissagree. If the stick is on the same side of the buttons, You won't be able to run and do any of the main actions at the same time, Imagine running and jumping using the stick on the same side as the X button, that won't work...

One of the many reasons why I dislike the PSP. It could - should - have been so much more - and what have Sony done about it? Make it lighter, of course. Who would have guessed?

They should have put a 2nd analog stick where the start and select buttons are on the PSP Go, and moved the start and select buttons to near where the home button is. And you have a new console that would look and actually be awesome, rather then a lame upgrade - all thony did with the Go was made it a slider, remove the UMD drive, and raise the price by $50. How is that fair?

I also think it could have benefited from a touch screen, but that's another issue. I'll end my little rant here before I get too carried away.

Sony could re-use the PSP Go's design and add a nub beside the other nub and move the Start and Select buttons to the bottom.

yeah, i think everyone figured this out like 5 years ago. I've heard this "suggestion" every day since the psp came out. OF COURSE 2 is better than 1. Even if you dont use both, its better to have a 2nd one just in case. why do you think the ps3 and xbox360 have dual analog sticks? and yeah a psp2 could easily have a second stick, but the question is WILL they even make a psp2 and WILL they listen to the fans....???? you will have to wait and see.

That's only possible for an entirely new psp. It won't work with an upgraded psp like the 2000, 3000 and Go. The current games aren't programmed to work with a second stick.
Furthermore, you cannot use the square, triangle, cross and circle buttons when you have your thumbs on both sticks. And since the psp only has 2 shoulder buttons it might get problematic to control the games :)

at least you can move with d-pad (little awkward, but not as awkward as trying to control your camera while moving with the same thumb)

Yeah, but I think that would destory the purpose of the analog stick. Well, you'd have a stick for camera and stuff. But not movement. I think it's more important to have one for movement.

My thoughts exactly. I was playing Monster Hunter Freedom Unite and moving the camera with the D-pad is a pain. I'd love to have it for camera movement but due to the design of the sticks, I doubt it'll be as precise as it needs to be for shooters.
