what is it used for .mikester585it basically is a way for device to communicate with router to open up a port specifically for your PS3. For the unsavied it just allows smooth communication between Sony and your system. Enabling it on your router may allow for better internet game play as router will automatically route information to your system instead of blocking of info as the default behavior of firewall.
[QUOTE="189302"]yeah it's kind of funny that music files that are most like stolen will play on a ps3, but the ones that are actually purchased won't play. What kind of message is that sending to consumers?

steal?
So you want DRM to rule your life. MP3 does not automatically equal pirating u know... I used to encode my music in 128kbps, and now w/ more space I actually use flac for lossless archive and mp3 w/ 320 VBR for listening on device.Mp3 and divx are two different codec that a lot of people can use to make/rip their rightly bought music/video. Supporting popular codec doesn't automatically means Sony support pirates. Or are you trying to say Sony is backing up all the pirates w/ their securom?
