Why does all of our games get delayed? Hell everyone is full of crap for delaying the games that we want. Why do they do this? Bigger install base? What happened on PS2 then, what the hell happened? THE GAMES SUCKED, now the 360 is a weaker console then PS3 and they're BETTER on 360, WTF.coldkill19I dont get it either.
would you rather them keep releasing the crappy ports that are the norm now, or do you want them to take extra time to focus on the PS3's version to actually make it run correctly?
I am fine with delays as long as they fix the problems.
Like with GRAW2, we are getting the 14 multiplayer maps that 360 owners had to pay for.

I agree, I would rather have a delay, then yet another crappy port.
good things come to those who wait?? The more time they spend on a game is just going to make it better for us in the long run,

Yea, but the thing is that all games seem to get delayed, and they are still crappy ports. I don't think that by them delaying the game that they are going to make the game any better. Ubisoft = Crappy ports! You can say that by them delaying it they are going to not make a crappy port, but they are always CRAPPY PORTS. no amount of delay will change it until the Devs stop being so lazy.
what is so bad about the PS3 version of R6V?
anways... Ubisoft's games being better on the 360 than the PS3 is simply because the 360 is lead SKU. i guess you can call Ubisoft "lazy" for not taking advantage of the CELL, but a lot of developers are doing the same thing. it is just common practice to choose one SKU and optimize the game for that platform, and then port it.
beggars can't be choosers.c0mplex
Beggars what do you mean we have to pay to buy these games we dont get them for free. So ubisoft and its employees are the beggars because they want our money. But they want our money without doing a lot of work.

because they make em to the 360's specs its sad....we wont see the true power come out of the ps3 till they stop creating games then porting em over to the ps3.
Rainbow Six Vegas is horrible for the sole reason that it was delayed. Because if it came out at the same time as the 360 launcha nd had all these online glitches and bugs then it would just be a rushed and unpolished game. That would be understandable.
But no we have to wait 7 months for a game with very frustrating online that is full of flaws and small glitches, glitches that combine together to make an almost broken mulitplayer. But not only is it online they have a problem with the entire game where if you have your resolution at 1080i it looks as if the developers where drunk at a strip club when they programmed the graphics. Sure its great we get maps 360 owners had to pay for, but that just seems like a gimmick if you compare it with the final product.
I agree with coldkill19, it is absolutely unacceptable for PS3 games to be a delayed for 6 months and more... only to come out worse than the 360 version. But of course if these delayed ports are actually better, then its a whole nother story.
The larger install base definitely has a lot to do with it. What do you expect them to do? Release a game that costs millions upon millions to make and give it to a console with 3 mil users or 11 mil? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out where you're going to make more money. Also, the attach rate on games is much better on the 360, PS3 software sales are a frickin' joke right now.

Not really the ps3 is at 6 million right now, this year the ps3 has been gaining momentum. With e3, tgs premiere, rumor on rumble, and now a new franchise from rockstar ps3 is charging towards the x360 and wii. Not to mention their price cut which was a lil confusing and even called stupid by many people. However, the ps3 is selling its 60 gig and a lot of people are buying it. Even if the price drop isn't here to stay they are still selling more than they did before...
They must start developing on the PS3 versions fairly late. What they should do is optomize it for PS3 first and then port to 360. That way 360 owners can pretty much get the same quality as now and us PS3 owners get to see what our console's really capable of.espoac
Yes they should make the console with the LOWEST install base the lead console for all their high profile games... Do you fanboys ever use common business sense when you complain about stuff? It's like when you all were crying about DMC 4 going mulitplatform. These games aren't cheap to make so the console with the larger userbase will be the one that MOST, not all, developers focus on. Just like last gen when the PS2 was obviously the weakest of the three hardware wise, it was the lead platform because sales blew away those of the other two. I don't know why this is so hard to understand.
the 360 isnt that much weaker, it has a better graphics card, im too lazy to give a link but if you browse the system wars and graphics comparison 1 and 2 than there will be lots of proof, but the ps3 has an amazing processor thats about 15 percent better than the 360s i think but the processor is hard to develop for because its complex.h2owizard
Thats because back than the developers didn't know how to utilize the ps3 technology yet. The closest we seen to a good looking ps3 game is ninja gaiden sigma. Did you see the screens for the ps3 unreal tournament 3? My god that looks a lot better than gears of war because they are finally utilizing the ps3 potential and all its hardware. The best thing to do right now is to "give it time"

First of all ps3 uses the cell to do physics, ai and generate some objects. And by the way the ps3 is considered hard to program because it uses this next gen style of programming.

They still have the lowest install base at this moment. If the PS3 can keep moving along at a nice clip then we will see the developers make the shift. Obviously R*'s exclusive game will help, I'm hoping it's LA Noire that game sounds awesome. But if they go back to $600 during the holiday season they are in fact hurting themselves. And even with the price drop right now they still haven't gained enough on 360 for developers to shift that focus yet.
That said, I hope this all does turn around because with cell and blu-ray the potential for the PS3 is through the roof. Also, for the industry to keep moving forward Nintendo needs to lose. Right now they're blowing everybody away and MS has no shot at staying in front of them with out Japan. So it's up to Sony to get things turned around now so they can stop Nintendo from turning gaming in to a haven for soccer moms and other non-gamers.

Yah if nintendo wins and their gameplay of graphics strategy works i will quit gaming. I want to make sure that graphics are also becomming over time.

Well I've heard it's actually easier to port from PS3 to 360 than 360 to PS3, which makes sense. If developers focused their attention on PS3 first and Xbox360 second (like they did last gen when they went with Sony first instead of the other two) I think we'd see two very polished versions of the game. The problem for developers is they have to decide what's more important though. Release the game now on the console with the worst sales, hardware and software wise, or release it on the console with the higher userbase where there is more money to be made. This holiday season they've obviously chosen the latter.
However, I like what Sony has planned for later this year, early next year. They have things turning in their favor slightly, we're all ready seeing it with R* announcing an exclusive. So next holiday, developers may be singing a different tune. No matter what, the next year will be interesting.

Yeah. I actually think if they can get the 80 GB to $500 in time for the holiday rush, they can make up serious ground on 360 THIS holiday though. With Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, Unreal Tournament III, Haze and stuff like Madden and GTA (I knowit's on360 as well, but most people associate GTA with the PS brand) they have a chance to really get a ton of momentum going in to next year. If they can get Killzone out by March that also gives them a nice edge early next year. I honestly don't expect MGS 4 or FF until late 08, wouldn't be surprised to see on of the two FF XIIIs pushed in to 09.

Yeah but you gotta know something, sony is doing its job to turn things around. At e3 they hit a lot of the things we wanted one main reason was exclusive games which we are getting. I also want to point out something about the ps3. I read an article a couple days ago that they are gonna remake the three most expensive and main parts of the ps3 so it will be a lot cheaper but still works as good. Get ready for another price drop sometime of next year.
Ps3 isn't only shutting out the 360 in japn they are doing it in austrailia also. I can see what you mean by the potential of the blue ray and the cell. Thats why blue ray discs are selling more than hd-dvd now and block buster is turning most of its store into blue ray disc only which is a smart move and that is entirely thanks to the ps3.
Mainly the nintendo wii sold a lot is because the console is really cheap to get and yeah there are a couple fun games to play on it, but what of the new games? Gotta agree with you there because sony made a smart move making haze and unreal timed exclusives because they can use haze and unreal t 3 to battle against microsoft's halo. By the time the version of the x 360 comes out sony is gonna start hitting its 2008 lineup if you get what I mean by this.(Though it woulda been better if they were exclusives)

The main reason people haven't complained about the Wii is probably because it's so cheap. And most people who bought it look at Nintendo like the people who work there are Gods so they can do no wrong in the view of those kinds of people. Plus with three great games like Metroid, Mario Galaxy and Smash Bros. set for release later this year, there is some stuff to look forward to. But 08 does look pretty weak and I hate this casual direction they've taken. Sony has played off the casual the last two-gens but the difference is they drew them in with actual games. Nintendo is releasing garbage like Wii Fit, Wii Sports, Wii Play, Mario Party, etc. There is not even a little depth to these games.

My guess is that hte ps3 is gonna catch up next year. They have a great line of exclusives coming with killzone, mgs4, white knight story, possibaly final fantasy, and so much more like little big planet on the psn.
As important as exclusives are, I think people do sometimes put too much weight on them. PS2 and Xbox shared many games last gen and 90% of the time the Xbox version was superior due to better graphics and MS' online setup destroying PS2's online set up (thankfully, Sonyis beginningto solve this problem with PSN which is a great service). Still, that didn't change the fact that the games sold better on PS2 and the PS2 continued to blow by Xbox in hardware sales each month. To me, the key exclusives aren't third party games, it's first party and in that category Sony is up there with the best of them.
what happened to our exclusives!! IDON"T want a freakin timed exclusive i want an exclusive!!!!!!!!!azimiballer
Who cares if it's timed or not as long as the game is good? Besides, Ratchet and Clank and Uncharted are the top 2 games coming to PS3 this year, imo, and both are exclusive to PS3. No worries.
the 360 isnt that much weaker, it has a better graphics card, im too lazy to give a link but if you browse the system wars and graphics comparison 1 and 2 than there will be lots of proof, but the ps3 has an amazing processor thats about 15 percent better than the 360s i think but the processor is hard to develop for because its complex.h2owizard
There is now way That the Xenos is a more powerful gpu than the ps3's RSX. Get your facts right buddy. The RSX has a noticeable edge on maximum dot operations per second, maximum pixel fillrate, shader operations per second and polygon count or should i say triangles per second. Just google each gpu and compare.

yep i love naughty dog and insomniac i personally think that jak 3 was one of the greatest games eva.
would you rather them keep releasing the crappy ports that are the norm now, or do you want them to take extra time to focus on the PS3's version to actually make it run correctly?
I am fine with delays as long as they fix the problems.
Like with GRAW2, we are getting the 14 multiplayer maps that 360 owners had to pay for.

see i have a 360 eliteand ps3, but i agree with you, i would rather have a game developed for each systems specific specs, than just ported, whether it be 360 to ps3, or ps3 to 360. you know whati mean, all this porting is just not like talking about, i want these devs to A. get up off their asses. and B get off their high horses, and hire some more people to do it right.
i have a question if the devs worked on the ps3 first then the 360 then would that make the games look good on both?h2owizard
no it wouldnt matter which one was first, it would only resort as a time thing, for instance if they started working on the ps3 version first then both games would come out closer to the same time, as if they started working on the 360 first then there would be a larger gap between the 2,,,..... and im not talking about porting but actually using each systems hardware.
