UK Store update time today (Fridays)?

I got so bored with my PS3 I sold it to my brother for £300 and he let me borrow his 360. The deal is that he get his 360 back come xmax plus his £300  and I'll get my PS3 back, just in time for all the great games...Pixelgen

What happens if he doesn't want his 360 back and wants to play MGS4, Killzone2, Heavenly Sword, HOME, and other big titles out towards the end of the year??

Am I the only one that is actually getting annoyed by the European store? The lack of (decent) updates compared to the US and Japan is unbelievable. Firstly, I don't see why games and demos can't get released globally at the same time (MKII, Armoured Core), secondly, and this really irritates me; why can't trailers be the same on all stores? Fair enough if there was some kind of copyright territory issue for a movie trailer, but it's highly unlikely a game would run into that problem.

The worst thing is there is no where to get any information on it. At least with the US store people are discussing what's going on it and what is on it; I can't find anything anywhere to say what's happening with the European store. It's really winding me up now; we wait months for the console and now we have to wait for the content too.

I didn't even realise PS1 games were available on the US store until this morning; yet another thing we are lacking. I hope there is some sort of official release plan or time schedule revealed, or at least an explanation as to why the European store is maintained so badly.

well you are right guys sony is paying attention on us stores more than uk stores but if you want to download the new 1.70 update for your pal ps3 console go to faq .eu.playstation.com/bc it is available now iam downloading it as 106 mb on a memory stick.meharu

I know that, but the point is: why should i have to do that?

Besides, we can't download full games from the US store, only demos and videos.

shouldn't look forward to the update, thats the first stage of being disapointed when the update sucks.

Trouble is that the PS3 fans keep saying that the 360 had very little on it to start with but the 360 had no competition.

I had a 360 on launch day and after I played Call of Duty 2 and PGR I never touched it foir about 6 months.

I am already in this position with the PS3 but this lack of any games or content is coinciding with a massive amount on the 360 in the form of arcade games and demos and even new maps, packs to add to existing games.

It is not good enough for Sony to sit back saying we will be as good in a years time, if you are going to be a year late to the party you have to come in running up to speed otherwise you always look poor.

It also worries me that every preview and hands on that you ever read on Game Spot is always on the 360 version and never it seems on the PS3 version. the developers never seem to have a PS3 version to show off.

People moan about the lack of exclusive games but that is not a problem if the PS3 version looks a bit better.

Gamers like me will always buy the version that looks the best but it seems that the best way is if the game is primarily being written for the PS3 and then will be converted for the 360, alas it seems to be the other way round and they always are showing off the 360 version as it is already part completed.

Sony needs to not worry about exclusivity but make sure the games are being written for the PS3 first and the 360 second.

It also needs to get Home up and running fast to give the PS3 a feeling of community which it currently lacks.

whenever the 360 is on you fell that you are connected and it is alive some how but the PS3 just feels like it is not connected, I'm sorry but I would rather pay and get a good service than have a free crap one.

All that said I love my PS3 and it does not collect as much dust as my Wii does and the fact that Motorstorm looks so bloody amazing and its a lunch title does show that this thing has amazing potential and Home looks to answer all the online problems and then add more, which i must take my hat off to Sony for at least thinking outside the box.

Roll on the end of the year and a day when we can laugh that all you got each week was a game like Rubadub.

guys this sucks a** ...i'm in europe and there ain't mk 2 available yet ,,,,while the yankess had it available since last week,,,

its been updated, around 8pm. but dont get excited. the update is as follows: GTAIV Trailer Oblivion trailer F1 - the making of PS3 ad - Bruce PS3 ad - Meltdown no MKII, no demos. o well, maybe next week. chrisius007

Well said, I agree with everything you've said I would also like to add that firmware version 1.70 was supposed to give us more BC but it's  now 9.05pm GMT and the website still has the old BC list that came out with version 1.60 WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON???? Are we really second class citizens to Sony?:evil:

Return your PS3s. Wait a bit and grab a PS3 at a later date when there are games to play. Let face it, Sony just not ready, they and the developers need a year to really get going and as I cant wait a year of loaned my PS3 for a 360. I'm sure my xmax Sony will come good...
