As you've just said it's your opinion.. and everyone is entitled to an opinion. So i respect that.
As for me, i've only played Uncharted 2 thus far.. and loved it.
Pacing, variety, graphics, animations, lasting appeal, controls, and overall feel were better in 2. 1 was amazing, but 2 blew my mind.
Do I have to play Uncharted 1 first or its ok to buy Uncharted 2?DawnclaudeNo you don't have to play through the 1st one to understand the 2nd. But if you do, you will get to appreciate the characters much more.
I have to go with the crowd and say Uncharted 2 blows Uncharted out of the water in virtually every department. Everything was improved plus a multiplayer as an add on extra.
especially the story. what about u?fifa11rocksuncharted 2 improved things that were lacking in uncharted. Uncharted 2 was much better than uncharted. it seemed to have a greater storyline too and you actually needed to half way follow the story in uncharted 2 unlike uncharted 1.
Agreed TC, I liked Naughty Dog's first PS3 experiment better because it felt so fresh at the time and it was intriguing to see what went on in their minds. Basically, I loved how the story and island were all original ideas out of Naughty Dog's minds. The second was great, but the environments were based off real places and the story didn't seem as original.
Uncharted: DF was a great game, but it had some pacing issues. Things I think that it has over Uncharted 2 are that crushing difficutly was more of a challenge and I liked more interactions with Sully and it seemed like there was more banter between Sully and Drake in the first. *Spoiler* Although I laughed pretty hard by the whole Drake telling Sully he has a sweet @ss and Sully saying thanks
I agree the story is better in uncharted 1.. especially in the beginning.. It felt a bit like LOST.. anyone agree ?
I respectfully disagree. I rented the first game and never cared to play it again, I bought the second game and I am still playing it to this day. The cutscenes in the second game are excellently executed and tie into the gameplay very well
Pacing was much better in UC2, that is pretty much the only difference between the two from a gameplay standpoint and what puts UC2 on top. The story for both is incredibly cliche and predictable, so there is no winner there. Sepewrath
That doesn't make the dialogue or the storytelling bad by any means...for example Iron Man was an excellent, fun movie but its not trying to be "Shindler's List," people seem to think that the story for games has to be original in order for it to be relevant
We maybe in the minority but I enjoyed the first Uncharted more than the second. Don't get me wrong the 2nd was great, it's just I like the first one's story better, and there is more Sully in the first.
More Sully = better game ;)
No you don't have to play through the 1st one to understand the 2nd. But if you do, you will get to appreciate the characters much more. I would...it gives you lots more hours of quailty time with Elena...dee-lish[QUOTE="Dawnclaude"]Do I have to play Uncharted 1 first or its ok to buy Uncharted 2?BattleSpectre
