Uncharted 1 still worth it after the second game?

Hm.. I'm getting a PS3 by this year and I plan on getting 5-10 games on day 1. So I have my wishlist prepped andhalf of them are '09 exclusives. The third most important titlefor me to getUncharted 2: Among Thieves.

I know Uncharted: Drake's Fortune's a great game and all but I heard it's pretty short, clocking in at about 8 hours. 8 hours, WTF?

So the question is, will it still be worth it to purchase Uncharted 1 after Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is released? Your thoughts?

I doubt the stories will have much relation with one another and I'm sure Uncharted 2 will be even better and hopefully longer. Also one factor is the inclusion of multiplayer.

I can't decide whether or not to get Uncharted 1. So...

If you're speed running the game, 8 hours is possible. If you take your time and actually explore, playing the game it was meant to be played, it'll take you quite a bit longer. The game also has a lot of unlockable content, which makes it fun to replay.

If you're looking to pick up 5-10 games, I'd recommend this as one of them. That's just me though.

if you plan on sitting for 8 hrs straight and play through it. Secondly, play it how it is supposed to be played EXPLORE!

Its still one to pick up even if you want trophies and follow the story.I.M.O its not too long and its not too short there is some good replay to it.

I finaly got Uncharted last week and so far it's been pretty awesome. It's worth it.

Uncharted is one of my favorite games this gen. If you're a completionist and try and collect everything then it will take you at least two playthroughs but that would mean starting on hard. It will take you more than 8 hours.

Wow, how surprising... Lol, I knew many people would support Uncharted 1 but I didnt expect everyone to. That's cool. Hm.. okay then, I guess I'll get it. As I said, I'll be getting 5-10 games on day 1 but I made a wishlist of 15 games and arranged them in levels of importance or "awesomness" to me. So... the first's actually Killzone 2 and the lasts' Gran Turismo 5 (cause I'm no real racing fan so it's not urgent at all), when it comes out.

I guess I'll slip Uncharted 1 somewhere in that list but most probably within the last 5 (meaning I'll get eventually but definitely not on day 1). I can't seem to replace any of the top ten games in my list with Uncharted 1. Also, Uncharted 2 is number 3 on my list so getting Uncharted 1 is not THAT urgent. I'll most prolly get it though... eventually.

Definitely worth every penny. How can you consider buying Uncharted 2 and not want to get the first one? :?

I was considering M: PR but It was released last year and I'm gettingthe console end of this year. I don't wanna own the game for aweek before the sequel is announced.

Its an excellent game that any PS3 owner has to at least check out. It will still be worth it after the 3rd and 4th games come out. It is a little short if all you are doing are point a to point b finish the game and then youre done. But you will want to explore everywhere, get all the treasures, play it at least 2-3 times, get all trophies, get all the unlockables, and so on. Trust me when you buy this game you will never be looking back on that decision.

Yeah I think you should get it, it might not have any relation, but it is still one great game.

Definitely worth it. Does anybody know when Uncharted is going to have a price drop? I bought it a while back, then I sold it, and now I'm regretting it, and want to get it again haha.

I would really want to get Uncharted but it's still 60$... How come it hasn't gone greatest hits on us yet?

Of course it's still worth it. A good game doesn't lose it's appeal after time or once sequels are made. I could put in GoW1 after 3 comes out and still love it.

I say go for it. Yeah, it's about 8 hours. But it feels right at that length. The pacing is quite good and the story is interesting as well. You'll be missing out if you don't play it. In my opinion, it's worth it.

i got this game the other day for 30 on amazon.com, and i'm glad i did, took about 9-10 hours to beat, very pretty to look at, story is like watching a decent movie, i really like it. i'm sure i'll beat it again before the 2nd one comes out, i too did a lot of research on it before taking people's word and getting it, really glad i did

That right there is your answer. If you were only getting one game on day one--then it has to be MGS4. However, if you were getting two games on day one, it would have to be MGS4 and Uncharted. Since you are getting more than one game on day one, you must get Uncharted. It is simply one of the best games to ever come out. It is in my top ten of all time list, and I have been gaming for over 20 years.

Oh, and there is no way in hell you will beat this game in 8 hours. That is only possible if you play on the easiest setting and run through the levels as fast as you can. It is more like a 12 -15 hour game if you play on a more challenging level and explore. Trust me, EVERY PS3 OWNER SHOULD HAVE THIS GAME!

One thing about my question was whether it's still worth AFTER I get the second game, not just independantly. Is it worth it AFTER the second game? Since the second game isn't out no one really knows how independent the plots will be. To be safe I'd get it BEFORE the next game.

Its definately short (I completed it in just under 7 hours!), but the story and the environments are worth it. Uncharted 2 will hopefully be good aswell.

This game is fantastically awesome, with humongus-entertaining story, good ,fast, paced gameplay, lovely animations, graphics are outstanding, and will suck you in to the game that will leave you comming back for more.

The game is gorgeus. Is like a chameleon, it changes dramatically as you go through it in the game. You will be mostly glad you went on with this game. Every single person in this thread has agreed with full determination. So why haven't you?

It's like asking whether I should get Resistance: Fall of Man after already getting the second game. I'm pretty sure the second is a better game and generally has a better experience so, should I still get Resistance 1? It's not whether I should get Resistance: Fall of Man, it's whether I should get it after having the second game. Except, I don't care about Resistance: Fall of Man and the topic here's Uncharted.

I'm not too sure, based on the length and the supposed little replay value but everyone in this thread loves it so much, I slapped it in my list. If it was a longer game. I probably wouldn't ask any of these questions.

I'd say if you want to learn about the story then you should buy it but the fact that the price hasn't changed really doesn't make it that enticing.
