I really don't understand all the hype around it. I played the demo to see what the game is like, and I didn't find it much different from other adventure games. I'm not trying to bash the game or anything, but is there something I'm missing here? Maybe the demo just doesn't provide enough insight to the game?

You need to play the full game, the demo didn't do much for me but the game is amazing.

I'm currently on my first playthrough. The game looks great, gameplay is ok. I'm liking the game but not to the extent of calling it a classic. I don't understand all the hype either but I'm guessing it may have to do with graphics.

The demo doesn't do the entire game justice. The thing that is so great about Uncharted 2 is how it provides such a great compelling story and gameplay the same time. Not many games get both right. Everything about it feels right. If you got to play the full game you would easily see what is to love about the characters, graphics and overall gameplay. Its just a fun game.

My friend downloaded the demo and I played it the first time with him... we both agreed it sucked. When I picked up my ps3 the following year and rented Uncharted to try it out...Wow, just wow. The story, action, cutscenes, environments, EXPLOSIONS...brilliant game. Do yourself a favor and rent it now before Uncharted 2 comes out.

Well the game was pretty awesome. I guess the shooting mechanics arent the best but theres alot of other gameplay elements like puzzle solving, and platforming and then theres great music and graphics and an excellent story. And the cover system is pretty beast. But thats all i found that the gun fights got pretty repetive and werent has fun has other shooting games but i could look past that with all the other stuff that were so good about it.

Uncharted doesn't do anything great, it does everything very well

So when you play it you're just seeing very good over and over and over

The game doesn't have any real spikes of excellence but at the same time the game is completely missing lows that drag the game down

It's one of the most solid experiences I've played this generation

***Full disclosure, I'm 75% done with the game***

da_illest101

The demo does a horrible job at showing the game off

The game is very well done and it's a constant throughout the entire game

That means that if you just see the demo you're like "yeah nothing spectacular" and that's it. What you miss out is that while there's nothing spectacular there's also nothing awful or even low in the game.

The game's strength is how solid it is

It's really not my type of game, but I'm going to give it a try based on all the hype surrounding the sequel. The demo wasn't really up my alley, but I've learned to not always trust demos. I'm hoping the full game is better.

Your situation is like mine but on MGS. I played MGS Demo, didn't really like it but I know the realy legit game is much bigger and overall a lot better with the story.

Some people like it some people don't. Is over hyped because most people liked, of course not like the whole world will like it.

I always thought it was a little overrated, its a fun game and should be played by most PS3 owners. I don't think its a must own though.

Why was tomb raider popular? Uncharted is tomb raider done better but with a dominate male character. Plus the graphics and gameplay is some of the best I have ever seen.

I was watching my brother play it, and it looked awesome. I love adventure games like that. However, I was mad that there was shooting in it. I hate aiming on consoles.

Now I'm playing it, and it's great.

I don't know why it is. It just is.

Yeah, the demo doesn't give you the full game experience with the story, the characters, the medals (trophies), rewards, crushing difficulty, the ending, etc. It's a very complete, enjoyable, and memorable single player experience.

Personally I would say it's a buy because it's one of those games where you might want to experience it again in the future. I'm the type of gamer that will replay most of my favorite games years after they originally came out. This is one of those games. Also, if you consider yourself a collector of games in even the smallest sense, this is one that you'll want to own after you play it just because it's so good. However, if you don't hang onto games after you've thoroughly played through them, you should rent this since it's relatively short.

I personally like the story, and the movie type feel to it. I like puzzle solving, Once you get towards the end i didnt do much covering, but was more of a run and gun and i liked that. Like others said its nothing new, but it does everything really well. The only thing i didnt like about it is that i wish you didnt always hafta shoot, and that the story was longer, with more places. Exactly what U2 is doing.

I don't think U:DF was overhyped . . . I think PS3 owners had a good time with the game and remeber it fondly because at the time it came out it was one of the only PS3 games that was both solid AND had a broad appeal. Since its release there have been a few games on both the PS3 and 360 that have surpassed it in the graphical dept but even fewer games released since then have gotten the total package right like U:DF did. Great voice work, fantastic story pacing(love the in-game banter between the characters), likeable characters, decent gunplay, gorgeous art direction etc, etc, etc . . .

The fault(why you don't recognise its value) does not lie with those who enjoyed it and wanted to spread the joy they had playing the game, the fault lies with those who bring too heavy a "criticism stick," to the game. Nathan Drake while not a wholly original protagonist is a wholly likeable one and therein lies the appeal of this game. Drake and his band of cohorts like Elena and Sully are interesting(as videogame characters go). At least that's the main appeal for myself and many others.

I didn't think it was brilliant, as for me, the gunplay was quite poor and repetitive. But its the characters, graphics and story which Uncharted so appealing.

Uncharted 2 looks a lot better in my opnion though ;)

The Beauty of Uncharted IMO lies in the story. I was one of those that made the mistake of just playing the demo, and considering that to be what the game was all about. However I was very wrong. The game has amazing graphics, a great story, and fun gameplay. I can only imagine what Uncharted 2 will be like. I think ND will have really stepped it up, and make a game for the ages.

It doesn't play like gears at all, other than the cover system. thats it!!
