So, ive had a few PS3's since it was released and (im ashamed to say) never bothered with the Uncharted series... until last week. picked up both for less than a tenner. I can see why they are so popular, they are awesome. But, i play multiplayer U2 last night and thought it was ok and average but nothing exceptional. its not that i was bad at it (rather good actually) but didnt seem to get any satifaction out kills or objectives. Whats everybody elses oppinions on it? and if you think its great, why?

It used to be great- but the ND started fiddling with the health and tried to balance certain weapons, leaving the FAL to do the most overpowered gun known to man. I still play UC2, but I mainly just play the co-op modes, which are really fun. I sometimes dabble in Plunder mode. which can get really intense when you have a good team behind you too.

yeah, i tried the co-op survival mode, that was quite fun and co-op seemed to be the best game types

I never thought it was all that amazing, save for Plunder. I was very put-off by a lack of free-for-all (which thankfully will be in the new game), and the teams games weren't very big, I think 5 on 5, which felt too small to be much fun compared to 8 on 8 of other games.

It sucked and so does Uncharted 3 online. They should add to the SP insteaf of trying to make a 3rd person COD.

I admit, I missed playing before the changes were made, but there's just so much variety in the gameplay. I really enjoy finding different ways to take down enemies, what weapons work best, etc. Uncharted 3 seems to have fixed the health issue.

The Uncharted 2 multiplayer is average, and it was completely unnecessary.

I disagree, The MP in U2 doesn't feel tacked on and it works fine and the co-op modes are very good. Just because you didnt like it doesn't mean its unnecessary. Also ND adding MP to U2 didn't take away from the SP it was still an amazing experience. And I'm sure they will do the same for U3 as they know the fanbase care about the SP more then the MP. Some games shouldn't have MP modes in like God of War 4 or Mass Effect 3 but if the devs put the time and effort into it they can make it work without it feeling tacked on, Uncharted 2 and Assassin's Creed for example.

Fully agree on all points. U2's co-op was especially fun with friends with the difficulty cranked up, I also love survival and deathmatch. It was well thought out and certainly not tacked on.

I think its one of the best games online it has flaws but hopefully Uncharted 3 will address those problems and offer a better experience.

Uncharted 2 MP beta version was way better than the mess they did after it was officially released. Sadly, Uncharted 3's MP is in that same route, hopefully ND LISTENS and fixes all those problems they have in the beta.

i completely agree and glad i'm not the only one who feels this way. i always see people saying how good the multiplayer in uncharted is, when i find it pretty bad. the co op is fun, but i don't enjoy competitive at all. to each their own i guess. uncharted is a single player game tho, and that's the way it should stay

Even though I think the SP gameplay carries over well to the MP, I do believe that UC3 could have done well without it. But just as you have said, the co-op modes are a welcomed addition.

It's a great substitute for Microsoft's Gears of War. I really enjoyed it and got to like rank 25/50. One of the best multiplayer systems around IMO! I'm sure if you asked around 90% would agree it's worthwhile.

I didn't think the mp in Uncharted was the greatest but it was done well which suprised me and I think that's why imo people enjoyed it.
