Uncharted 2 or Red Dead Redemption?

Hey guys, I haven't played a video game in a long time. And I really want to get back into playing, but i need a good game to do the honors. Which of these is the best choice for me to buy??

Uncharted 2. Probably one of my favorite games this generation. Unless you're not a fan of linear cinematic action-adventure titles and prefer open sandbox worlds, then go for Red Dead Redemption. Both games are amazing but Uncharted 2 hands down for me.

RDR, much longer, better story, better gameplay; UC2 is just a generic hollywood by the books action vidoegame, you basically do the exact same thing the entire game with different gun, enemy, and environment skins. Don't believe the hype.

UC2, i found RDR a little dull until about half way through the SP and if your coming back to gaming you don't want something a bit dull to come back to

how long is the single player in uncharted 2?

I thought UC1 was extremely linear and boring, and from what I've heard the 2nd isn't much better. I'll have to go with RDR, much more content and freedom.

UC2, its just better in every way. Better story, more interesting gameplay, great multiplayer, and it looks better. The only better thing about RDR is its length. But I think that it should be shorter. It feels like it drags. I was ready for it to end way before it did.

The story is practically non existent, the writing's not that great aside from a few moments, the characters are like stereotypical cardboards cutouts (the wise cracking adventure guy, the beautiful girl he has a relationship with, and the wise cracking oldie), and the gameplay is completely the same the entire game and gets really boring.

Both are great, but RDR is way better. You should get both though, cause Uncharted 2 isnt that expensive anymore.

RDR been playing it non stop since it was released! Uncharted 2 is an awesome game though!

Buy RDR. Rent Unchartered. You'll get more play time for your money with Red Dead (by buying), and you won't miss the greatness of Unchartered (by renting).

UC2. Not a big fan of RDR. Played it a ton for about a week then never played it again. Uncharted 2 I finished three times and never really got tired of.

Rent uncharted 2 (and beat it in 2-3 days), and then buy red dead. Both are great games. If I were to pick one, that would be tough, but uncharted 2 beats it out...but just barely. A lot of people loved uncharted 2 for it's graphics, cinematic presentation, and story, but I haven't heard anyone say they LOVEd the gameplay. If you're a jaded gamer like me and is looking for better gameplay that gears-of-war corridor 3rd-person shooters, just rent uncharted and experience the story. I loved uncharted 2's story, but I did not fall in love with the gameplay - not one bit. Red dead a played for a bit, and I loved exploring this desert with horses. Both I'd say are something to experience
