UNCHARTED 2, what's the fuss about?

Having recently picked this title up a budget price i cant seem to fathom why it got such fantastic reviews , the game does look good, and the motion capture/acting/ blah-blah is presented very well, but the gameplay? the shooting? the re-spawning enemies? Why such fantastic reviews for mediocre gameplay?

Because.... it's fun? Give us an better idea on your complaints.

The graphics are probably the best video game graphics to date, the controls are great, multiplayer is awesome, a great story.

suppose im just not having fun shooting these re-spawning enemies, it all seems a bit dumbed down compared to other third person shooters i have played - i enjoyed Resident evil 5 more than this. It just seems generic, but pretty. Syphon Filter - ish.

Ill play it through, im sure it will get better the more i progress, im getting picky in my old age. Not even tried the multiplayer

Uncharted 2 is awesome in more ways than just the graphics. I'm not saying that everyone should like it because that's simply not how the world works.

IMO though it is ONE OF the best games too the ps3 to date. the story and screenplay's well written, the voice acting is one of the best, the control is easy to learn and works well both for platforming and for shooting, it's fun and action-packed and of course, as mentioned, the graphics are really something else.

I really didnt enjoy UC2 as much as the first, something about it just didn't hit that good spot.

What respawning enemies? Unless you die or restart an area you should not have any respawns. Once you clear an area, they should be gone.

That's kind of like asking what's all the fuss about caviar... Some people get, and enjoy, the finer things life has to offer. Others obviously don't. That sounded like a jab, but it really wasn't. The fact is everyone has their own tastes. Don't like it? Fine. Don't play it. But what's the point of coming here and asking why other people like it. Regardless of their reasons, it won't change your view. If it does, then you liked it in the first place and didn't want to admit it until others confirmed it for you. And that's just weird...i_noseworthy

ummm story could also be a reason, plus respawning enemies seriously every area you clear thats it no more enemies not sure what game you are playing. Plus maybe play Uncharted so you can develope an idea of the caracters

I think that it's a nice improvement from the 1st but there are parts in both that it feels like there is an endless amount of enemies and it is too much but they all do come from places and not simply spawning everywhere and it is challenging and fun. Personally in the first one I got to really enjoy the tomb raider like qualities and was irratated by the lengthy shooting areas and later started to just love those as well and by the time I finished it I was totally in love with the whole package and after going through that I kind knew what to expect in the 2nd and for me it was all good.

more importantly though...it's on a budget price now? I guess I'm buying one for everyone I know who doesn't have it yet.

What respawning enemies? I don't know where you are getiing syphon filter from. There is more to the gameplay than just the shooting. You can find hidden treasures or use melee attacks on bad guys. The shooting is pretty spot on, so I don't know what you were expecting.

You said it yourself, because it LOOKS good. I'm not saying it's a bad game or anything. But the hype is def over the graphics & vibrant colors , imo. It's also a real easy game that anyone could just pick up and play. bussinrounds

Everyone likes different games it's like a lot of people like the Call of Duty series and I don't like it but that's my opinion. I like Uncharted 2 for it's characters, the humour, voice acting, controls, music and it's environments. I do hope the next game has more of Sully.

I've always thought it was a good game, a very good game, but no where near as good as the hype on here suggests. Of course everybody has their own opinion.

I somewhat agree, the graphics, story, and almost everything else. I just wasn't super impressed with the gameplay. The multiplayer is pretty fun, but I just didn't get hooked to it. It's a great game, it just didn't meet my really high expectations I had after seeing all the reviews and all.

I agree, it's a well made game and it hits all points, but it didn't really feel special or unique. Great game nonetheless though.

It was funny.... one of the very few games that can actually make me laugh. Other than that...... i don't know. I realy don't

It's really fun to play with great characters and a good story. Perfect length with brilliant graphics, basically an all round great game.

top notched single player experience coupled with great multiplayer contents - UC2 deserves all the praise it's got and more. it's not a fuss. it's a fact.

It's quite an epic adventure... I thoroughly enjoyed it.

One of my top 3 games of all time. And Naughty Dog is my favorite developer of all time. I usually have the most fun with every ND game and having fun is the mos important part about playing a game I think.
