Uncharted 3 By far the weakest of the series so far (Spoiler Free)

I don't intend to ruin the story for anyone as I have not finished playing the game but aside from the graphics and uncharted type storyline, the gameplay is not as fluid as uncharted 2. The gunplay of the uncharted series is the weakest element of the series still, Uncharted 3 aiming system, big dead zone and input lag with clunkly controls when actually playing the game. Enemies up close can be quite the challenege due to the controls. Also the hand to hand combat still feels like a quick mini game rather intergrated with the gun combat, the game purposely goes into slo-mo to show a enemy is about to hit you.

As a big fan of series like many here are, the combat is UC3 I truly believe is one of the worst in a third person series game. the cover system and combat don't work well together at all.

I understand that you don't like it, that doesn't make it bad. It's very different from the first two, and the cover system makes it very clear. Enemies no longer stay behind cover and pop every few seconds to be shot at; they move, they're more hostile and they will kill you if you stay behind cover. Something, while I found frustrating, I very much enjoyed. I had no problem with aiming, but many people seem to suggest something similar to what you said, so I'll take their word that aiming is clunky. The hand-to-hand is very well done I thought, and I found myself using it a lot at the beginning of the game (towards the end it was more or less useless). But it was cinematic and the slow-motions were sweet.

Having finished the first two on crushing and this one on hard only I have to say, Uncharted 3 is far more difficult than the first two due to the new cover system.

I always liked the gunplay to be honest. Although I think I enjoyed it most in Drake's Fortune because I enjoyed the sense of impact.

I eventually got used to the gameplay/gunplay but the story was what ruined the game for me.

The game is very fun for me and I like the online much better than U2 due to co-op mechanics and kickbacks. Uncharted 2 is off course one of my favorite PS3 games next to Valkyria Chronicles. So Yeah U3 didn't even come close in single player to U2.

I wouldn't say that, I think it's head and shoulders above Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. But the gunplay in every one is a bit weak.

It's maybe you expected to much after number 2.

I agree Uncharted 3 was definitely the worst and most disappointing of the franchise and a waste of $60. The main disappointment for me is the game's pacing. The 1st 11 chapters with the exception of the chateau level are nothing but platforming and puzzle solving. The few memorable moments that do exist are annoyingly interrupted with random interactive movie scenes.

The game picks up steam in chapter 12 on the boat but ends abruptly just when it starts to get good. The story has way to many plotholes and feels rushed. I think the campaign took a backseat for ND to focus on the multiplayer since that seems to be the main selling point of the game.

I finally played U1 after trading in U3 for Skyrim and had way more fun than I did with U3.
