The co op is really amazing and fun. Its great having 3 buddies doing the different co op situations together especially on the harder difficulties.

The competitive is another story, maybe it is because I have been playing socom for so many years.

Here are a few of the things i dislike about the competitive:

-Compared to most games, it takes so many bullets to kill someone. Most people tend to respond with "learn to play the game and what not" to these kinds of coments but it is simply true. Someone should not be able to run away and hide while taking multiple shots and quickly recover. Its frustrating to kind of sneak up on someone then shoot them quite a few times and they pop behind a wall and get the upper hand.

-The rpgs and grenade launchers ruin the balance of the game for me. I think the grenades are an excellent way to get people out of cover and make them vulnerable but the rpgs/grenade launchers are to effective. They can kill you hiding behind a wall very easily and have a large blast radius. I find that when someone has one of these weapons, it is very difficult to use the cover.

- The melee attack. Oh man this one can be upsetting, it reminds me of call of duty. I hated how in call of duty people could lunge across the room and kill you while your putting bullets in them. In uncharted, you can be running away while your shooting them and somehow they manage to melee you. The melee animation shows the character standing still but somehow they can chase you running away. I just find it upsetting that you can stand shooting at someone landing every shot but your ennemy can hit you with an object and it is more effective than bullets.

-Respawn. Countless times I have respawned in bad situations like near a gun battle where a grenade lands right beside you.

-I'm not sure what to call this but is similar to wall lag. You hit circle to get bhind a wall and you somehow get shot behind cover. Its also similar to when you roll and someone still manages to melee you.

In no way am I trying to bash the game, i think it is a wonderful game and love it. I am just curious to what your thoughts are, especially those who have been playing online games for a while.

We're referring to a series that features zombie-like cannibals, they don't exactly have a nack for realism.

I love the co-op and the competitive but I do agree with all your points. It does take way to many bullets to kill someone especially when your aiming for the head, the RPGs/nade-launchers are just cheap and annoying and it's also too easy for people to just drop a grenade when they run into you and the re-spawns can be really annoying when people keep re-spawning behind you.

These problems are also in other games though so it seems to me developers really need play more games.

I agree, these elements are present in a lot of games. Call of duty being a good example.

I like it, i don't enjoy call of duty like health span. You die to easily in COD imo, and in real life no one runs and guns. It takes half a clip of AK, and 3 bursts of FAL. I don't consider that much but... Also i want the match making to be faster.

I remember today I was just shooting a man who wasn't palying. I just sat there shooting him and didn't even get the kill because a guy snaped my neck from behind. It just takes so many bullets, I couldn't even kill a guy not playing. .....its a tad sad.

I love the game, and understand the point of taking so many shots, other wise cover wouldn't be used as much and the platforming would be none existent. But they do need to raise the hit damage a little. I was shooting someone and they ran up a whole set of stairs (up 1 floor) and was able to take cover. The entire time getting shot in the butt. I waisted nearly 1 1/2 clips in him and nothing, finally just threw a grenade and got the kill. So yea the hit damage should be raised a bit.

Also the melee's really need to be a 1 hit kill if you hit the guy in his back. And that lunge melee needs to be fixed altogether, I shouldn't really be 8 feet away from someone and they get a melee on me lol.

I love the game dearly, but yes somethings could really be tweaked some.

To me its that the SP portion of the game is so great, that its hard to pull myself away from it and get over the awe of the game to really get into the MP portion. I know what your saying, its just a weird feeling or outlook, its like the rush of the game is definitly its SP. Not that the MP isn't good, it just has a hard time stacking up to its SP counter part lol.

I feel like the grenade throwing is too easy to rack up kills as well. Someone can simply run away and toss a grenade into a pursuers chest without skill, simple run and toss kill.

I agree on the rpg's and grenade launcher's but that when you actually think about it adds more realism to it. If you fire an rpg at someone behind a 4-inch thick brick wall or to the side of it do you think they're going to live? The same can be said with grenades, it all plays into a strategy you learn for the game.

Also on the amount it takes to kill someone that's why i never use the AK and go with normally the FAL because i personally prefer burst to full auto. M4 is good too and i love the sniper rifle.

I love the health because it means that you see someone first almost always equals you kill them. That's one thing i hate about COD games is the low health. It just equals run and gun and i prefer the strategy element. I love how if someone is shooting me i can duck somewhere and then either kill them or get forced out of cover by a nade and enter a frantic shooting spree while trying to duck back to cover to regain health.

Perfect for me, only thing is they do need to work on spawn deaths or one time a group of 4 from the other team spawned in front of me, i tossed a grenade, they killed me i got a double down/afterlife and then the other two were injured and easily picked off by a teammate behind me. That was awesome to do but extremely unfair.

It may be realistic but I feel their needs to be a balance. It makes the game less fun for me when a guy can just shoot a rocket in my general area and kill me so easily while its very hard to kill him quickly.

i like games where bullets actually kill people, which is why i'm not a huge fan of uncharted's multiplayer. the lag doesn't help either, although it's usually not too bad

I really enjoy online in this game. At least you actually played the game to give a honest opinion about it unlike TomRock who said Uncharted 2 was overrated without playing it. :? I can see what you mean with the problems that you have about it but I'm a person who overlooks the little minor problems and enjoy the game for what it's worth. Did you at least enjoy the single player campaign?

Well Naughty Dog will add the Crushing difficulty for Deathmatches, so that means people will die from 3-4 shots.

I've posted this MULTIPLE times over. I actually just posted it, so here's a little copy and paste:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay, I'm really, REALLY getting tired of explaining this.

1) If you feel it takes too many shots to kill someone, play Crushing mode. VERY little to kill someone / be killed, just like the difficulty of the same name in the Single Player. 2 FAL bursts to the body = DEAD. Single shot sniper rifle (body or head shots). Definitely dissuades people from using noob weapons.

2) You run JUST AS FAST as you in the SP. Why is it such a problem in the MP? Nobody else is faster, so it's not like it's an unfair advantage. Hell, there are even "useless" boosters that make you faster while carry the treasure, the chain gun, and the riot shield.

Naughty Dog is talking about adding Crushing Only and Plunder Only playlists. If you ever had any interest in the tactical nature of SOCOM, then Elimination mode on Crushing is just as intense.

I loved the single player and I'm not saying I hate the competitive. I just feel sometimes it can be frustrating.

Also for the comment about crushing mode. I will definitely give that a try.

I like Uncharted online I'm not really into Deathmatches to many people use the RPG and I don't really like the boosters. I only play Uncharted online for the CO-OP it's great when you can find players that actually want to work with you as a team not people who won't help you. Like yesterday some guy was getting attacked by a group of enemiesand then gets killed I try to help him and he does the same thing people should understand like try to go to upper ground then you wouldn't die as much. I like playing it for survival and the co-op missions but Gold Rush people don't seem to work as a team they just play that mode just to kill as many people as possible which gets annoying as most seem to leave you getting the treasure.

To kill people faster keep shots to the neck and head area, they drop a lot faster that way.

On the GL I agree, the rpg is not as bad on village or trainwreck where it only opens because of an event, but I do not like maps that allow someone to swing by one and get an auto 2-kills.

The Grenade Launcher needers a slower rate of fire and to have its pick-up ammo reduced to 3. That way people have to be choosier in their shots.

Both weapons should be removed from Elimination... they are quite unbalancing in that mode.

On melee, the concept may be irritating but melee isn't really unbalanced, it works quite nicely. if you run away well you can kite them out a distance and kill them while they are trying to melee you.

-Respawn. Countless times I have respawned in bad situations like near a gun battle where a grenade lands right beside you.

imthebest6

This is common to all 'deathmatch mode' games. The spawning only bothers me in plunder where people respawn right by the new treasure location.

-I'm not sure what to call this but is similar to wall lag. You hit circle to get bhind a wall and you somehow get shot behind cover. Its also similar to when you roll and someone still manages to melee you.

imthebest6

That's just lag.
