Uncharted series

First of all, I should say we all have different tastes in video games cause I know I'll get an ignorant reception. Now imo, I find Uncharted highly overrated. Seriously, what's so good about this game? Uncharted this, Uncharted that. This is all I read about when someone states what games to get or if you own a PS3 and don't own Uncharted, you have no taste which is beyond pathetic. Anyway, explain to me why it's sooooo good than it's out to be, or are there actually people who exist that dislike this game? (I'm having a bad day so I'm having a vent)

TC, you can't have a go at people that have differing opinions from your own. I like the series, and some of my friends don't. Just like I'm sure you like game series that we don't like. Why make a topic like this if you don't want people giving their points of view.

What? I'm just giving my opinion. If he's going to make a thread like this, he can't rant at people giving their POV.

I think it's pretty awesome. I just loaded up UC2 right now. Do I think it's god's gift to gaming like some people do? No. Do I think it is a really fun game and a great series? Yup, I do. To each their own.

I see people consistenly praise MGS4. Some believe it is the best game ever. I tried playing through it, and restarted it about 5 times over 8 months. I just couldn't get into it, and its not my kind of game. Does that mean I am going to bash people that praise MGS4? Nope, they have a right to believe it is the best thing they ever played, and in their mind it is.

The thing about uncharted for me is that it's a double edged sword. First the gamplay is out of this world with blockbuster moments that make the biggest action films look small time. Secondly I love the characters and the story.

I hate Final Fantasy games and thought 13 was the biggest piece of crap I ever played and the story was a plot hole ridden mess, but i understand that is my opinion and their are people who think that the game play was great and loved the story. Just because you don't like Uncharted doesn't mean there is anything wrong with the game, it's your opinion.

because it's one of the only games this gen that has been praised(and in some ways deserve it) as much as half life 2

I have seen posts like this that were worded in a much nicer way. If you dont like uncharted dont play it. I personally thought it was amazing. Fantastic graphics, good storyline, gameplay was overall fun. But i think I see what your saying. Through out the course of the story i got glitched into walls about 3 times and couldnt do anything so i had to restart to check points. I also found the stealth later on in the game a bit frustrating because of its inconsistancy. The game is defenatly not realistic if thats not your thing. I like it as an over the top action adventure game. It overall works very well and it truely deserves good ratings and reviews. The gameplay flows very well the game does a good job of varying combat and increasing in dificulty as you move on. the very way the game is portrayed is awsome. If your character is conversing you know your going the right way. Every action you do is like a cinimatic. You climb on moving trains and jumped from trucks in a massive fight, you kill thousands of highly trained mercenaries with alot of really cool diverse weapons. Most of the time the stealth works well (im a really big stealth gamer, Look at my Avatar). There were jsut a few instences that were frustrated because this is usually a really fast pased game. By the end of the game you will be fighting alot of hard enemies. I absolutly love this game. There are a few minor flaus but other than that the game pays attention to alot of detail in a very fun adventurouse game that takes you out of reality to experience an action packed tail that puts yiou in the shoes of an adventurer that always plays the hero.

I absolutely love the Uncharted series... just sayin

Allthough its a good, maybe a great game and one of the games every PS3 owner should have i also find it overrated. It just doesent have anything new or revolutionary to it. With that said i did enjoy Uncharted 2 and i will get Uncharted 1 this summer and Uncharted 3 when it comes out.

just rent it and see what its about uncharted 2 is the better of the two with online mp and co-op. I really enjoy it, its one of the few games i still have that i havent traded in.

Not everyone has the same taste in gaming like you OP.

I think Uncharted 2 is the best single player experiance since mgs4, lol.

Trust me dude, i can undertsand how you don't get the hype. The first played the very first uncharted for about 10 min. put it down kuz i hated climbing in games, i didn't know it was mostly shooting, not climbing. The first Uncharted i ever gave a chance was uncharted 2, just by chance i came across the Multiplayer Beta on PSN a week before it ended. So i played it that whole week, non stop, i luved it that much, i even went out and pre-ordered it. I then played Uncharted 1, but its no where near U2, i got hundreds of hours logged on that MP.

Great protagonist, great gameplay, great story, great graphics and sound design. Great characters and villians and fun multiplayer (when it works).

uncharted 1&2 are great and MGS4 is pure s h i t e
