I haven't come accross an explanation for this problem on any site. When the PS3 is switched on at the back, the red light comes on. When the on button in front is pressed, the green light comes on for a fraction of a second, there is a click and the unit powers down and all lights go off. There are no other lights and there are no flashing lights apart from the single flash of green. Can I do anything about it? I've already had to fix a YLOD twice by reflowing the CPU/GPUs. Any advice is appreciated.

Sounds like what happen to my ps3 i would hit the button it flashes and then like a triple beep and then back off to just the red like its on standby, unless you leave it alone for a few hrs and it works its just overheated but if like mine its a brick now and worthless. Sorry to hear
