Unluckiest Gamer this X-Mas - MY STORY, tell me yours...

OK, here goes.

First off I'd like to state that everything I'm about to tell you is 100% true and no fiction at all, even though it would perhaps seem a tad outrageous.

A year and a half ago I became the proud owner of a brand spanking new XBOX360. Been saving up for a while and it was great to finally get some Full HD gaming out of my very expensive Full HD LCD TV. During that coming year I had my TV die on me and I had to wait 2 and a half months for a replacement, but that's not the big case here.

One week ago I finally got my hands on a game that I had been anticipating for about a year, namely MASS EFFECT. At the same time I had also managed to scrape enough cash to buy myself the new PLAYSTATION 3 40G version. You could say with Mass Effect on the 360and Assassin's Creed on the PS3 my gaming life was pretty darn cool :D

AND THEN..... about 10mins after having put on the greatness that was MASS EFFECT, my XBOX360 wouldn't read the disc anymore. I tried and tried to get it working but to no avail. I quickly went to the store where I purchased it and got it exchanged with a new copy. BUT when I got home it was fairly evident that it wasn't the disc that was faulty, but my 360. I had to accept defeat and call up Microsoft to have them send my coffin for the 360.

THEN, yesterday (a week later) I received my copy of UNCHARTED: DRAKE'S FORTUNE and finally got my XBOX360 sent to Germany for repair. I thought to myself "Hmm, this is a good day, I'm about to play the most anticipated PS3 game to date and I've finally sent my 360 for repair, thing are looking up" OR SO I THOUGHT.

But to my HORROR, as I was about to start up my UNCHARTED copy the PS3 wouldn't read the disc at all. I tried numerous times and tried ALL my other games, but to no avail.... my PS3 was dead, the laser had gone :(

SO, here I am, writing this to you today... it's a month till Christmas and in about an hour or so I have to call Sony to tell them that the great console I bought lasted me 40 days (whopeee). And I'll be without any next gen gaming through the entire X-Mas period and probably well into January :(

So, TWO NEXT GEN CONSOLES broken within a week...and while trying to play the two most anticipated games of the year for both consoles (UNCHARTED & MASS EFFECT)

You could say I feel slightly sorry for myself today :(

Damn, dude. That's aweful. It's kinda funny though, 40 gb PS3 lasted only 40 days,lol. But, anyway, it's a pretty tragic story. I guess all you have to do is wait.

My story?....umm, I have a PS3 and it's still up and running,....ANDyou gave me another reason NOT to purchase Uncharted. I wasn't going to buy it anyway, cause imo it looks like s*** (can you say flame war?) LMAO.

Sorry for your loss, though, and hope you get your consoles fixed.

It better not be the 40GB model, because that's what I have...

Try to buy a new PS3 and take the old one back in the new box.

Xbox must have passed on the plague to the ps3 somehow... very interesting

its not as bad as you think, SOny usually has a 1 week turnaround, if you send it in by friday you'll probably get it back next week.americahellyeah

I live in norway and I called the shop where I bought the console last month. They told me they cannot give me a new console and that I have to deliver the broken one to them and they can distribute it further to Sony. Theman said that I would have to wait till AFTER X-Mas to get it back, that's how long it takes.. over a month mate.

rlly? well over here you just call up sony and they'll mail you a box to ship it in, and usually you'll get it back about a week or two later.

Yeah I know mate. Microsoft Norway did that with my 360. Sent me a box,I placedthe broken 360 in it and DHL came and collected the box from my doorstep yesterday. I think Microsoft have a better service policy here in Norway.

did u try callign sony directly instead of doing it through the shop
because if u get sony to do it for u its back in about a week
