Unsolved PS3 error code? Please help if you have heard of 8001050F!

I just got back into town after 3 days away, and i boot up my PS3, which was working perfectly when i left. I did not leave it run, or anything like that. I also know i did not shut it down during saving or a download, so it's not a corrupt data problem. After i started it up and chose my profile, it said that i was signed out of PSN because of error code 8001050F. I tried signing in again, and got the same thing. Rebooted, and error again. I tried to search for a solution for this but all i ever seem to find is that i must send it in for repairs IF my discs won't boot. the thing is, all my games work just fine. Same with the web browser. It just won't let me sign into PSN. Can someone help please?!? i just can't find a solution to this. BTW, i have a 60 GB launch model, with a 500GB hard drive i installed. this was 6 or 7 months ago, so it's not the new hard drive. Many thanks to anyone who can give me some tips here.

Ah, well now that i look at the forums, it seems that this is widespread. Is everyone getting the same thing? Just not being able to sign into PSN? Well, it makes me feel better that others are getting it... i had already started to panic, haha. Thanks for the heads-up.

Yeah i got that error today myself, but i get that at least once a week while im playing. I dont know what the deal is on it but they need to fix thats for sure.

Ok, here's something really weird. I just checked my themes and every single one that i had downloaded from PSN is corrupted. I have about 3 that are from other web sites, and they are fine.... but the PSN ones aren't... what could that mean? could someone check theirs?

Whoa... this is gigantic. Sony didn't have a scheduled maitenance day today did they? I don't think there was... But if the servers are crashing, Sony is going to get chewed out.

I'm having the same issues. I'm guessing the login server is getting slammed for some reason.

Sony updated their official website today with a total new look and their going to update the PSBlog tonight as well with a whole new look.. even the forums are changed.. not sure this could be connected somehow

Nope we both have the Fat model.. i checked his a couple of minutes ago and it signed just fine while mine dosent.. i'll check it again in like 5 minutes and make sure
