They seem to have put up the whole 1.70 description on the japan part of playstation.com. Anyone speak japenese and can translate an give us the small change they did on top of the larger one?
i have a job so im not always on the PS3 like that.. i checked a few pages didnt see anything about the download.. hmmm nothing on the pal console so try to check the on ur PS3 and see if they have it or not..

check ur U.S PS3 if u have one... it will tell u to update
It's not for PS3 games. It's for PS1 & 2 games that had rumble. You'll be able to get the USB adapter & plug a dualshock 2 controller into the PS3 & get rumble on older games that supported it.

True but it still screams that the sixaxis will have rumble sooner or later hopefully sooner. Plus its one less thing people can gripe about. Imagine if they did release a new controller that rumbled and forgot to enable vibration feed back in the old games. People would be upset and complaining.

I also thinking the same thing. I've just checked the playstation web-site and its still on 1.6.
I'm not gonna say it's bogus but it is a little strange... I hope someone didn't hack into Sony's servers and gave us a fake update. I'm looking at you Microsoft!:P
