Update 2.80. Now my discs won't read. Except ps1 discs. HELP!!!!

I just updated my ps3 to update 2.80 and I tried playing Call of Duty 5 and now it does not work. Won't read the discs,so I said "Oh well" and then I tried LittleBigPlanet and found the same error. I have tried every game I have and none of them read. So I resorted to some Final Fantasy 7 and it worked somehow... I turned it off and came back in 5 mins. I turned it back on and I put in Blitz the League. for PS2. It worked so I turned it off and came back in 5 mins. Put in LBP, and guess what... It didn't work. It didn't read, so I put back Blitz, now it didn't work. WTF!?!? I really need some help and you guys are the only ones who I can trust. Please help me!

You might have to call Sony on this one.

Try formatting your hard drive. First back up everything onto a seperate hard drive, then format it. If that doesn't work, try calling Sony Support. Thats the best I can do for you dude. Good luck:).
