Updates ( A.K.A Firmwares) Arent Free!!

Yes ladies and gentlemes Updates are NOT free, so start complaining.

I m here often reading posts and i see a lot of people complaining about the updates and other people replaying: Well HEY they are free so dont complain!

And here comes my point: Updates arent free, SONY IS PAYING PEOPLE to make them, right now there are teams (maybe 10-30 people) making this updates and they do receive a salary from sony.But someone isnt listening someone... is just saying things like: Who needs cross voice chat?who needs a better xmb? lets just make 3d background and call it a major update.

Well that person should be fired and if we * shut up* about it and try to *conform* with these silly updates and that person ( or persons) will still be making them.

So lets complain!!! let our voices be heard!

They want the PS3 to do things they want. So they want them in update.

Yeah, "Free Updates" references us, the users, being able to update our system(s) for free; not the actual programming and creation of the updates themselves.

Sony never charged me for an update, they are free. I wish they updated on a monthly basis, I love the up dates, especially the latest one. ;)

We (the consumer) do not pay anything, so the PSN is free

Sony really dropped the ball with the PSN when it comes to universal integration. One problem I have is with this update, is that the one thing Sony got right (that is the clutter free XMB) is just garbage now.

I would rather have Sony not releasing any updates until we get some sort of cross game party/chat system

If Every one is so concerned why dont you work your*BlEEP*off and Try to get on that "Comitee" So You can give people good updates that theyll be happy about. Or Send them an email saying you and a million other People did not like 3.0, you Shouldve added *Put Thing Here* and *Put Thing Here*. Kind Of Like a petition.

If you complain about something your parents bought you, you don't deserve it to begin with .. people like you should be given nothing .. ungrateful .. :roll:

If Sony didnt make ANY updates, you might have not bought the console or any games in the first place, so there.

You'll learn that not everyone can be pleased, and while it's true that developers sink millions into developing new content thier top priority is to please the consumer. If the general consensus is that a new update is trash then it's up to the developer to narrow down the problems and amend them. It isn't free, but these developers are taking out money so they should have the courtesy to listen.

For example and it's a rehased issue, but it's a prime example. So flamers shut the **** up. Square for instance could take some time and listen to what the consumer wants. Generally speaking the Square fanbase have been demanding a FFVII remake since the Tech Demo was shown. Imagine the bank that Square could make on a masterful remake.

Seems as though here lately the industry has kind of turned a deaf ear to their supporters which I found to be dumb, and downright rude. Who knows though? Someday they'll listen.

They already made cross game chat, there just not allowed to release it, do your research!

All I have to say is that unless you have personally sent Sony an email with a list of things you would like to see, then you really have no reason to complain. Sony can't read your mind.

Sharing opinions on a forum is one thing, but if you want Sony to know what your opinion is then you better send it to them. You also need to remember that Sony is no magician. There are limitations that they have to overcome and shortcuts that they have to discover before they can just put something out there.

I can safely say that Sony 100% knows things like cross game chatting is one of the most wanted features, but has anyone stopped to think that Sony has just not figured out how to accomplish this yet? They aren't trying to punish their PS3 owners by refusing to add this to every firmware update. They do what they can with each update.

Also instead of B***ing about it on a gamespot forum, why not actually send them an email saying the things you hate about the new update. If Sony doesn't know how are they supposed to know to change it?
