I'm trying to update my PSP's software to the most recent version (whichever one that is) but I can't work out how. I don't have a wireless internet thing so I can't get my PSP online. The updates I have got I've done through various games telling me I need to and pressing 'x'. But I need a higher version for the PS Store and I can't work out how to do it through my PC. I've looked at their website, and it says I need to download from the 'PS3 system software section' of the website. Sorry if I'm being stupid, but where is this? I really can't find it.

You really should have a wireless connection because without it the PS store is not going to work at all for you. The latest firmware is 3.71 at this time so if you have this version then you have the latest update. The PS store comes from a seperate source that requires your PSP to be connected to the internet.

OK, I've got it updated. Thanks for the replies.

I had version 3.50, now I've got 3.73. I know I need to get the internet connectivity, but it's not really a huge priority right now - I'm more interested in the games. And the PS Store does work without the PSP being connected to the internet - I can just do it through the PC.

Thanks, the link was exactly what I was looking for :)

Though I have downloaded 3.73 - was there any reason I shouldn't have?

And as for not upgrading...(I'm guessing what you're talking about)...you might have guessed I'm not great at all the technical stuff so - though I was very interested and did try to find out about it - it was a bit confusing for me, and my PSP's firmware was over 2.50 when I bought it anyway so it would have been very complicated (and I think I would have needed another PSP with 1.50 anyway). I figure Sony will eventually release the stuff I want (they've got the PS Store on the PC now) and I can wait; though a couple of features would've been nice (FFVIII(and some others) on PSP...come on Sony) I mainly got it for the actual PSP games anyway. I don't have the money or expertise to be messing around and taking risks.

yeah the guy up there is right, is like a 3.71 but with 4 or 5 numbers more, if you dont believe me, download a decrypter for updates and compare
