US games and UK games??

hey, ive got a 40GB Pal PS3.

i want to buy some cheap games from play-asia.com and lots of them are US versions.

will they work here in the UK on my PS3? and are there any differences if they do (e.g. online play on fifa)

I believe PS3 games are region free and you can buy any of them.
