Recently my portable External Hard Drive died on me. I had it for a couple years so it was a USB 2.0 version so always worked fine with my PS3. Now I'm in need for a new portable external hard drive for my ps3, to transfer videos, music, save files etc.
The problem is all these new drives are USB 3.0, which has me concerned, after all the research I have done.
I was hoping someone could help me that knows for sure if there is a way to have a USB 3.0 External Hard Drive work on a ps3?
I've heard many people talk about it not being recognized by their ps3's, some people have said to use a USB hub, some say that works, some say it does'nt.
I know that External Hard Drives must be in FAT32, but have still read ppl have problems having USB 3.0 versions working on PS3 even in FAT32.
I would just purchase another USB 2.0 portable External Drive, but it seems most of them have gone way up in prices, so I dont want to spend that much more.
This is the portable drive I was interested in getting, But ofcourse because of the above I have concerns: Western Digital My Passport 1 TB USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive

So if anyone who has experience with this, That can give me as much info/help with the situation. I'd be very appreciative. :)
